A really interesting small centre with a small cafe outside. You can buy a small plain umbrella and choose a design for the artists to paint on it. Watching them do this was amazing.

Went there after looking at other people's reviews. The reviews didn't match our experience or I have different opinions of experiences. Two women working on glueing umberellas surrounded by pictures of the process involved. Really aggressive artists wanting to paint anything you are wearing. Would...More

Very interesting to see how umbrellas & fans are made, start to finish. The artist are talented & will paint one of your items; phone case, shirt, etc. The shop prices are reasonable.

We had our hotel hire a taxi to take us out to the umbrella village and it was fantastic! Bring white t-shirts or anything you'd want painted and they will paint whatever you'd like on pretty much anything. We had t-shirts, a drone, shorts, and...More

Very interesting manufacture and you can get nices Thai umbrella to decorate your house. The people who work overthere are artists, and they create very nice master pieces. If you like Asian Art I advise you to go there.

This was my third visit to Bo Sang, Chiang Mai's much touted umbrella making village. I was taking visitors from Australia, but was bitterly disappointed. Unlike previous visits, the village now lacks vibrancy. A few shops along the busy and dusty main road have displays...More

This isn't too far out of Chiang Mai. You can hire a baht bus to take you there and back and wait an hour or so for you. You'll be able to see the umbrella's being made. In a separate factory, hundreds of umbrella's are...More

Quirky and creative place to pick up an unusual souvenir - umbrellas. You can sign up to paint your own umbrellas. Or for a minimal fee, pay one of the many artists in the factory to paint any design that you like.
