    Great place worth a visit
I remember years ago my family was in Greece and we were saying that Greek people doesn't know what is healthy food putting so much oil in the food. Little that we knew olive oil is one of the healthiest source for our body. Well now we know. And we know how they made it. Great place, worth a visit

    Wonderful museum and delicious tastings
One of the best experiences on the island. We visited at the same time as a big tour bus so we ordered some food until they finished inside the museum. The owner who brought our food (delicious ice cream with lemon olive oil; and a fruit plate with chocolate olive oil). Then she personally gave us a tour of the exhibits. Finally, she wrote down our kids' names in greek lettering on a museum certificate. She was so sweet. After our trip, I recommended this place to friends who were visiting but it was closed during the office season. However, coincidentally it turns out our friends were staying in the owner's inn in Chora!

    A hidden gem!
A must visit in Naxos! We happened upon this place by seeing it on Google maps and so glad that we stopped in. Nicoletta and her staff are so knowledgeable about the olive oil production and the products and they make you feel like family . They offer a multitude of tastings and do not make you feel obligated to purchase anything but of course you do because they offer some amazing products! There is a cafe where you can enjoy a light lunch. Definitely deserves a visit!

    Olive Oil Heaven
We visited the Eggares Olive Press in our hire car after it was recommended to us by our hotel. We arrived mid afternoon and after getting a detailed explanation of how the olive oil is produced we sampled many different flavoured olive oil . Mine was the rosemary oil and we bought several bottles to bring home. The two ladies who run this are great fun and it was well worth the visit . If on Naxos would suggest you check it out .

    Must do in Naxos
Hidden gem. A MUST DO in Naxos. Took our ATV from Chora which was about a 16 min ride (easy ride). They do a quick history of the location / how the oil is made and then you are able to try the products. To die for olive oil, cake, olives, etc. I want to get a job there. The staff is AMAZING. So nice&friendly. This was the highlight of my two weeks in Greece!

Getting better and better. Love it
Well hasn’t this place grown. Still the quaint little museum, but with great hosts and fabulous products to try in the glorious garden, it is a must for any visitors to Naxos. A little off the beaten track about 7km outside Horra, but well worth a stop on a day trip to the north of the island. Fabulous olive oil and olive cake with coffee, organis herb iced teas and fabulous olive oil ice cream. The owner always makes people feel welcome and I’ll provide the love that she has for the place in every morsel she provides to sample. Love it.

    Loved it
This place is just incredible. It was a highlight of our trip. We arrived and were immediately offered bread and different flavored olive oils and marmalades. The olive oil cake was so delicious. I bought several small containers of olive oil and one large garlic olive oil and a couple of marmalades. All of my family and friends want some and I definitely didn’t buy enough. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. My husband and kids and I wandered into the museum and one of the wonderful ladies gave us an informative and vivid tour of the museum and allowed my kids to help demonstrate how the olives were crushed. I asked for directions to see one of the oldest olive trees in Greece and the woman was kind enough to draw me a map. We set off to find the tree and though it is hidden, we found it! I can’t wait to return to this lovely shop and museum in the future!

    The best thing in Greece
If in Naxos for 1hour-15days/forever, cannot recommend enough. My sternum feels lubed. We are heading to the club before it’s wasted. Please announce you are a woman at the door. I feel like a could sing an opera. My lips will never be chapped again. A great place for a wedding. I’ve been searching for a venue for 10 years now, I need this owner to wed me here. Simply have never been happier.

    Family fun
I’m giving it five stars for its great historical tour and kind friendly staff but I wish I could give it 20 stars for the free tour and tasting of the best olives, olive paste, olive oil and olive jams I’ve ever had! Not to mention the effort put into everything by the incredible staff during our visit and their mind bogglingly good cake!! If you are passing by or in town I would highly recommend this and the cafe/ restaurant for lunch was the highlight of my trip and I went home stacked with goodies!!!

Very interesting place. It's rather small but very informative. We were told how olive oil was produced and how it is produced now. The guide was really friendly and explained everything well, without any hurry but very relaxed. There's a little shop attached, where you find plenty products made of olives (olive oil), you can also taste different oils (f. Ex. Orange flavor), spreads, cakes etc.
We also enjoyed some coffee and homemade lemonade. I would recommend ordering the homemade orange cake made with olive oil (very tasty).

This is a delightful little attraction. Information about olive oil pressing and some of the old equipment. Not too much to over burden you. The people in the cafe/shop are so nice and friendly. You can sample lots of their products and you can also eat some of them in The cafe. Highly recommend the olive oil cake. The stuff in the shop all priced very reasonably. Really like the olives stuffed with gherkins which we bought.

Great find on Naxos! Includes a short tour of the olive press museum, with info about the process of making olive oil by the family who runs it. The visit also includes a tasting of several types of olive oil, tapenades, and other products - all delicious! They offer a few homemade snacks too that you can order to eat while you’re there. Loved visiting here while we stayed in Naxos!

A friendly young man showed us around in the museum. It’s only a small showroom about the history of the olive oil production. The tour is for free and includes also a tasting of olive oil and other products out of olive, The english of the man showing us around was really good and he did a really good job.

We came to Naxos partly to enjoy its inland villages. When both our car rental company and hotel recommended the Eggares Olive Oil Museum as a must-see, we knew we had to include it in our wanderings. It was a short drive from Chora and easy to find. Katerina did a great job describing the history of olive cultivation on the island and demonstrating the machinery in the museum. We were then treated to an extensive tasting - of their many infused oils, olives, and olive pastes. We left with several of their products as gifts for those back home not fortunate enough to be with us in person!

If you are visiting Naxos, be sure to stop at this museum - particularly if you like olives and olive oil. Small and interesting, owners are lovely, samples and products are delicious. It's more than worth an hour of your time.

Such a fantastic place. We visited in June 23, catching the bus from Naxos Town then getting a taxi back which came to 20 euros.

The people were so friendly and generous. They ordered a taxi for us and even gave us a free drink for the wait. We ate so much and paid very little, it was clear the intention is to allow guests to experience the renowned Greek hospitality. The tour of the history of how olive oil was made was really interesting (and free!). Would definitely recommend!

Eggares Olive Press, a small beautifully and meticulously restored museum, cafe, and shop. My husband and I have visited here many times over the years and each year Nikoletta Lianos ( charming, smart, and funny) adds yet another feature to this lovingly restored mill.
The addition of Naxian Wanderers, led by Katerina Rota is inspiring to both children and parents alike. Children are the focus as they learn about gardening, history, storytelling, art, and more. An incredible way for your child to remember history and have fun doing it!
Angela, always with a smile, so friendly, artfully displays all the goodies you can taste-infused olive oils, breads, olive oil cake, marmalades, olive paste, etc. I know she has a big hand in making the olive oil ice cream as well. A taste not to be missed!
You won’t be sorry you stopped here. Take the short informative tour and do some tasting ( pretty sure you won’t be able to resist taking something home). Then relax a little outside with a coffee and maybe another snack under the incredible Greek sun. It will all put a smile on your face!

Always on our list year when we go to Naxos is a visit to this little gem in the Aegean. There you will find about the history of and techniques for making olive oil as well as have the opportunity to taste some flavoured olive-derived products such as oils and jams. The staff are lovely and helpful and, if you go when Nickoletta’s son Spiros is there, he will give you the short but invert interesting guided tour. Take some refreshments while you are there, such as the delicious fresh lemon squash and home-baked cakes. Enjoy!
