We walked through the local woods. Found this on the other side. Well refurbished and well kept. Great for walking the dog or a stroll. Family play area for all ages. Some great views over the Thames.

Lesnes Abbey and it's woods are a hidden gem. It's just a short walk from Abbey Wood Station and about 35 mins away from central London. There are some shops near by and also a major supermarket on the other side of the station. The ruins of the Abbey are very interesting, as is it's history. The Abbey was founded... More

The site and park/woods of the old ruined Abbey are undergoing a total revamp with new paths and a visitor centre being built. Currently it is more than adequate for dog walkers and joggers, and nature lovers, but when complete it will be excellent for families and picnics. If all goes well it could rival Greenwich Park a few miles... More

If you literally want to just go to see this, then please be aware that it is in the middle of the industrial estate with 70's Britain's high rises surrounding you. There is lots of renovation and thanks to a lottery grant, will be better in the future. It is just a bit grim, and the photos make it seem... More

The abbey is just ruins supposedly haunted by a monk I have never seen anything. Ideal for kids who like to climb walls run around and jump off of things. Good for dog walking due to the woodlands there. There was s kids play park but local scum burnt it down hopefully they re build it. Other than that it's... More

We often wander around here for exercise and it is very pleasant. The children's play park recently had a fire and needs replacing but for a lovely stroll with or without a dog it is great.
