Syon House is the London home of the Duke of Northumberland and has been in the Percy family for over 400 years. Built on the site of a late medieval abbey, Syon boasts one of the finest Robert Adam interiors in the country and has a magnificent collection of paintings and furniture. Be sure to check the website before you go, they can change the Open days on the house at their discretion. Visited only to find the Gardens were open, and house closed. Went back the next day and they upgraded our ticket to see house. Just fascinating as a family still lives there, so personal photos on display too. The... More

The food in the cafe is of a good standard but expensive for what you get. Cans of drink were £1.80 each. I do not know how they can justify this. Also the web site gave the impression that the garden centre was open. It did not make sense when we arrived to see all the tills closed. We then... More

This house has a real wow factor. The ceilings are amazing the art work is spectacular and the room guides are friendly, very knowledgable but most of all amusing in their stories of the history of the house and the families who have lived there. We also had a good lunch at the adjoining garden centre before enjoying a walk... More

We were able to make use of a discounted entry price as we come from the local area. The home is magnificent with lots of very helpful guides in each of the main areas. It's a shame that the guide book is out of print as this would have helped. The history of the house and the family is fascinating.... More

Recommend the gardens so peaceful the house is small and a bit corporate. Lovely lakeside seating and good free parking.

We are from Northumberland and familiar with the Duke of Northumberland's castle at Alnwick and the Alnwick Gardens. We had heard of Syon park but had never been until this week. We were very lucky with the weather - it felt like a day in early summer - but even without that we would have enjoyed the day. The entrance... More

Although I have lived close to Syon House for most of my life, I had never visited the House or its gardens. Well I have missed a lot! It is a fantastic property, steeped in a complex history, which is well told by knowledgeable, but friendly guides. After walking round the House, there is much more in the grounds with... More

We skipped the park but visited Garden Centre adjunct to the Syon Park which is pricey to gain access. Great selection of garden tools and planes plus aquarium. The restaurant is reasonable but one has to expect slow services...

While walking along the Thames path we came across this fine mansion. We did not realise what it was until we checked the internet later during the day. it looks great from the river walk.
