Step inside the compound (having removed shoes or donned shoe covers) and you are greeted with an ancient temple. The crowds were enormous but moved reasonably quickly. There is no lingering, as the crowds press forward continuously. You eventually... More

This is a large temple and we recommend warmly to visit it. The line of waiting people was huge but suddenly we found ourselves inside the main building in the crowd of people worshipping and passing by the goddess. This was a truly unforgetible experience.

Temple has provided a ramp so as to take in old people with wheel chair for close darshan of Goddess Laxmi. This is good reform as it was not there few years back.

It was a lovely experience to be at the Mahalaxmi temple. the queue system was very nicely maintained. The surrounding area and the prahar was neat and clean. the view of the waves lashing the shores was really nice to witness.

Try to visit the temple early when there are less people on road. It is pleasant and you can spend time around the temple area shopping and having the Maharshtrian breakfast.

What can you write about the devine mother. We happen to be there for early morning darshan. There was no rush and no pushing in the queue. For a famous hindu temple it was very quite and soothing. The staff were also very good were allowing the people to have a good darshan. After the grace of the mother it... More
