After the crowd at Sri Krishna Temple, it was nice to visit a temple nearby without jostling. The temple was built in the 8th century and its architecture is nice.

Holiest temple of Udupi. Shiva temple. Very ancient, it was existing before Krishna Mutt. Very powerfull. The name Udupi came because of this temple.

Situated very near to Srikrishna temple, main deity here is lord Parshuram in the form of a linga. It is usually custom for devotees to visit here before commencing to Krishna temple.

Anantheshwara temple is one of the beautiful temples I have seen in the locality with such marvelous yet simple architecture. The temple premises is big and kept neat. Its a must place if you are visiting Udupi.

Our elders advised us to visit this and the Chandramouleshwara temple before heading towards the Krishna temple. Large temple complex and relatively quiet.
