Although all the resorts on the island are run by Blue Diamond, they decided to charge for meals at Sirena Beach. It was part of the all-inclusive when we were there in December 2023.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 10 February 2024

Gorgeous white sand beaches you can walk for hours. I was relaxing on my floatie when a stingray swam beneath me. Snorkelled for 2 minutes before finding a starfish. The restaurant boasts great off the resort meals for cheap. We ate 3 meals + alcoholic drinks for $30 CAN. We visited this beach while staying at a resort in Cayo Largo.
It will cost you 2 pesos to rent a chair for the day.
The beach was picture perfect, white sand and turquoise waters for as far as the eye can see.

This beach is just as glorious as Paraiso, but has washrooms, a bar. And complimentary lunch buffet and grill. Chairs and umbrellas to rent and you'll want an umbrella as there is no shade. If you walk to the far wast end and around the point, you can see tropical fish and starfish, I even saw a Wray without having to snorkel! Behind the bar is some docks out into a lagoon. Through some bread off the dock and you will see plenty of fish.

Beautiful long, clean beach with white sand. It's a must visit if you're hotel or stay is nearby. Arrive early to request an umbrella and please tip the workers. Lunch was included with grill options. I had the fish (gutted but with head and bones) which was delicious!!!!

The island of Cayo Largo is beautiful ~ but Playa Sirenas make it that destination beach paradise, that escape, one always dreams of. When we vacation, we look for a Caribbean tropical atmosphere of remoteness & ruggedness with quiet secluded uncrowded beaches that contribute to a "Robinson Crusoe" destination. This beach, Playa Sirenas, is out of this world! Photos cannot even begin to capture the true essence of her panoramic magnificence.
We've been to many beaches in Jamaica, Florida, Barbados, Samana, Punta Cana, Cozumel and other areas of Cuba. We've never found any to match the exhilaration and breathlessness we experience every time we catch the first glimpse of this amazing, unparalleled Playa on the edge of the Caribbean Sea.
Sirenas is truly one of the most absolutely stunning "Sirens"... whose bewitching powers lure you, irresistibly, to this enchanting island. Playa Sirenas has very compactable pure white sand which is so easy to walk on, flowing on to continue on for miles ~ so very wide, so pristine and brilliantly white next to the unbelievably deep turquoise Caribbean sea, it's no wonder people from all over the world travel great distances to be here.
When researching, we found good advice on the forums, not to walk all the way to the westernmost Sirenis from your resort on your first day. We were recommended to take the shuttle and walk back, to basically gauge the actual walking time, then deciding whether to do the trip both ways. Sharing a taxi with others is the best way to go, as the "train shuttle" is always operating on "Cuba Time" ~ you don't want to waste any (of what can amount to 45-60 minutes waiting) valuable "beach time" sitting in a resort lobby! There are plenty of palapas available and lots of loungers. We can walk for miles and miles each day, as well as relaxing and reading. This was our fourth visit to Cayo Largo, and we brought along our shade tent once again, in order to enjoy one of the many deserted stretches of beach, Robinson Crusoe style, for an hour or two. We did end up using it this time, not like last year ;-)
There is a unique phenomenon about Cayo Largo ~ that there can be days when the tides and wind can wash out the main beaches in front of the resorts on Playa Lindemar, and then miraculously return the next day or two. So do not be surprised in the least when this happens. Be assured that this doesn't happen at the western end of Cayo Largo, where you can always enjoy the delights of Playas Sirenas and Paraiso.

we didn't like the dolphins in cage which are trained for shows. you might swim with them, but doplhins simply should live in groups and in freedom. Food and drinks at the restaurant rather poor, but the serve you on the beach under your umbrella which is nice.

Paraiso was better for us, but here you'll find bathrooms, souvenir shop, buffet, food and unfortunately the dolphin exploitation. Great bar keeps ! The beach was beautiful but a little busy what with the catamarans, sailboats, motor boats, volleyball etc etc, and a little far to walk to from where you get dropped off. But walk up the right side of the beach and all of that disappears, miles of white sand bring you to a little bay where the starfish are, but leave them there in the water please ! I liked it once you were away from the people !

A beautiful beach surrounded by a magnificent sea, the real "photography" of the Caribbean!
Beautiful to swim in crystal clear water, very close to starfish!

We booked at our hotel to take a bus and then a boat to get here for $5cuc each. At the marina there is a little tourist market for sovereigns. When you arrive at Sirena you can see two dolphins in an enclosed cove. There is a little show they put on if your timing is right and you can swim with them for a fee. They looked pretty scarred up though...possibly from trying to get out of the fence...kind of sad. There is a restaurant and bar that you can get a bbq chicken lunch at for $6.50, it was pretty good. It's a bit of a hike through the super soft sand to get to the beach. But there are lots of papapas available and for $2cuc you can get a lounger. Staff were awesome and the beach was clean.
We walked to the right once on the beach and it wraps around to an inlet. There were lots of Starfish, Jellyfish, Conch and Needle Fish to see. But stay on the beach because there are lots of little barbs you will step on otherwise.
We took an hour long snorkeling trip with the boat we can on for $20cuc each. We were the only ones so we had the boat to ourselves. They took us out to a coral reef where we found colorful fish, stingrays and even an eel. For $10cuc they will cook you a fresh lobster tail and rice, or for $5cuc you get a couple small lobsters (they look like big shrimp).

There is a day tour you can book. You would take a small plane to Havanna. The schedule is not very reliable either.

Hola!

How much are the drinks/food if you stay all day ?
Im going at the end of April and if the beach at Bella Isla is pretty much gone, ill be spending a lot of time at Serina.
Anyone know how the shuttle works from the Bella Isla resort ? how much it costs ?
Thanks!
Written 2 April 2019
Hey,
Cheryl is right about the shuttle and ferry - free. The ferry was very overcrowded (beyond safety standards) when we were on it (but the shore line was close should it have capsized!!). Keep in mind that the schedules are on Cuba time!!
Deck chairs on the beach were 2 pesos each (1 peso is about 1 US$; note: change at the airport, better rate than at the resort - CAN$ to Cuban peso).
I got a beer for 2 pesos but my wife's Margarita was 3 pesos. We didn't eat on the beach.

Hola!!!!!!

Written 30 July 2018
Hej
We bought our flight tickets on the web, by Cuban AeroGaviota, they fly to the island 2 times a day. To my knowledge, it is the only way to get to the island.
Sol Cayo Largo is the best hotel option on the island
Be well
