A verdant green outlook from this area across the wetlands -stunning. The rock art was explained well and we fortunately had the area to ourselves almost as the rain had cut a few roads.

all 3 kids under 10 loved the rock art. The climb up the hill is hard but all 3, including the 5 year old made it. great views, like looking out at the african savanna, just without the elephants

We set off around 4:30pm to see the rock art and climb the rocky escarpment and witness sunset over the vast wetland plains. A magical evening – some really stunningly beautiful rock art in shelters on the way and even though there must have been 2-300 people up top – it was still a great experience. Calm, serenity, stunning rock... More

Very old rock art and best viewed with accompanying information. Have a guide or at least a booklet to explain those rock art. Bring along insect repellant and drink lots of water.

Although this is a far flung place, it is well worth a visit. To see the marvellous rock art and to climb up to the top of the main rock is an experience not too miss. The views are phenomenal especially in the wet season when there is so much greenery. A privilege to visit.

Try and get there early, before the bus tours arrive! Rock art on the way up is brilliant, look out for settler with hands on hips and walk right up to the top for the most spectacular view of beautiful Kakadu and Arnhem Land.

Ubirr Rock is right at the top of the most beautiful and amazing places on Earth! Ubirr rock has to be at the top of the list for all Kakadu visits and truly has to be seen to be believed. Whilst we visited in the wet season (monsoon season) the view and experience was still absolutely spectacular. We ended up... More

My family visited Ubirr to watch the sun set and see the amazing Indigenous art. The walk is very easy and my three year old claimed up the rocks (with a little help) ok. Take plenty of water and insect repellent is a must - the fly's could carry you away!! However, don't let that put you off, watching the... More
