Local information was good, and we were given maps etc which had the answers to most of our questions. We were early in the tourist season and some attractions were still closed, awaiting clearance (of crocodiles) by locals. Fair enough – there is now way I am going in there if not cleared.
The Kakadu information booklet is well explained, by area. We bought our park passes but we were never checked, throughout our visit.

Krystal in the visitor centre is amazing. Without prompting she provided in-depth information about what to see and how to time our visit to each area for the best impact. She knew EVERYTHING!!!!! Her enthusiasm for the area was evident. Thanks so much Krystal.

A few kilometres outside of Jabiru, on the way into town, it's worth stopping for an orientation of the park and to obtain information about the park and it's sights. Displays are interesting and the ranger on duty was very helpful.

The Visitor’s Centre has clearly seen better days. A pity - clearly was quite impressive when newly constructed.

Many of the exhibits here were either not working or features were missing. Needs some upkeep and maintenance.

Despite it being the ‘Taste of Kakadu’ week 20-29 May 2022). Our visit today to this information centre was ‘nothing short of a major disappointment’.

The building is in a very bad state. It is dirty & filled with cobwebs galore, dirty toilets overflowing with toilet paper and full rubbish bins throughout centre. It appears like it hasn’t been cleaned in years.

The habitat displays were dirty, the plastic plants were covered with dust & dirt. The glass was not clean on any of the displays and library resources were out-dated (2008).

Clearly all the thousands of dollars taken from tourists is NOT reinvested into this important cultural visitor centre.

As far as show-casing Kakadu at this centre - There was a small display of cultural art outside hanging in the trees - but there was no customer service. There was (2) basic stall displays. (One was bush food in jars and the other cultural paintings).
There was no damper tasting as promoted & No communication provided.

The weaving workshop and traditional painting workshop were an extra cost of $35pp & also located outside in the heat.

It is worth mentioning that the lady was friendly and informative at the reception window whilst she took our money for the obligatory Kakadu Park visitors pass $40 pp.

It is not great loss if you miss this visitors centre - just pay your obligatory fee on-line when you finally get internet reception in the outback.

We enjoyed a visit to this information centre before heading on to the easternmost side of the park near Cahills Crossing and surrounds. Helpful staff and a good quality and informative brochure on the park.

Well worth a visit, friendly local ranger helped map out a program based on local conditions and our interests; beautiful building and interesting cultural exhibition helped set the scene for our week-long visit.

Very disappointed with this centre. Looked tired, dusty and no love with the displays. There was no-one around. No place to purchase a cold drink if needed. The architecture of the building is beautiful but no-one is looking after the display inside. Walked through and left in 10 mins.
