There's a bunker, which used to serve as field hospital during the wars, built inside the mountain. The scene is cool though not especially spectacular. You may spend about 10-15min here and entrance fee per person is as much as other attractions.

We rode our rented scooters to this cave and took the tour. It was pretty cool to see how things were done during the war. Careful of the ants and skeeters, though! Worth the ride.

I passed by the cave on my way back from the national park and decided to give it a try. The entry fee is 40k and for 5k you can park your bike. The cave looks very interesting but I wish there had been more...More

Very cool to see, the caves are pretty big and the rooms look nice and tidy. Would suggest going to this place if you go to cat ba for sure!

Originally used during the Vietnam was as an Hospital, this cave is loaded with history. It is pretty amazing to visit if you have an hour to kill before or after your Halong Bay boat tour...

Don’t understand any of the rave reviews. We were made to pay $5k for parking our scooter when we could’ve just parked it down the road for free. It costed $40k per person to enter the hospital cave, hindsight not a huge amount of money,...More

I went during the low season, so there was only one guide at the very beginning. I asked him a little about the history and he told me what he knew. The 17 rooms are all empty, but it's still cool to know that the...More

The cave should be one od the best highlights. Unfortunatelly there are just empty rooms and no information in English. It was a bit od disappointment for us.

The cave is just a collection of empty rooms. You need some knowledgable guide, otherwise you will be disappointed. When we visited, it was quiet, which was nice but also meant no guide was available. Someone must have written an interesting history of this cave...More

how is possible to pay for a structure completely made brand new full of new concrete , nothing historical there, just empty room , with a guide which doesn't speak english. Completely a robber and honestly not worth to go and visit at all
