The area needs help in its upkeep soon. Loved the view of the ocean across the street and nearby. If you are passing on this road towards... More

My wife and I and her brother and sister-in-law all visited Puerto Rico in October. We stayed in Guanica the beginning of our vacation and did quite a bit of sightseeing. One of the places we passed was the Guanica Light on our way to the San Jacinto Club/Restaurant where we took a ferry to Guilligan's Island. The lighthouse is... More

We passed this on our way to caña gorda. You can see the flag painted on the building from the street.

The Guanica light house is not in good condition, but it shows, what happens, if nature takes over an abandoned property. You can climb up to the first floor and have a great view. Careful with small children!

this was kind of neat, but it is just an abandoned lighthouse with graffiti on the walls. My wife and I stopped on the way to Copamarina, it's just on the side of the road. We looked around for about 5 minutes and took some pictures. Like most things we saw in Puerto Rico, it had lots of potential that... More

Can only imagine how this lighthouse loooked when it was in use. It's worth the stop for some pictures especially if you like ruins. If they can't fix it they should put a small plaque with part of its history.

The lighthouse is practically in ruins, though some parts of its unique architectural elements are still visible. It was activated in 1893 and deactivated 1950.

On your way to Copamarina Beach Resort in Guanica you can encounter an important relic of history of Puerto Rico. This was one of the oldest and important lighthouses of Puerto Rico which resided in the Bay were the US invaded Puerto Rico in the Spanish American War. I can't imagine why there have been no intentions on restoring this... More
