Be sure you park in the right place. We were told of this hike by a local. He didn't make it clear where the trail head was so we ended up starting much lower (the "town" of Arpy) and hiked a much steeper, longer trail...More

There are two routes to the lake. The one in the book says to park by hotel La Genzianella and the walk is very easy. We parked near Ostello di Arpy and had a longer walk to the lake with a bit more ascent. Lovely...More

The hike to and fro Lago d'Arpy is a perfect, refreshing way to spend half a day in the region during the summer. The shady path is about 75 minutes long in each direction with ascents which aren't too strenuous but provide decent exercise for...More

Easy to reach either on foot or by snowshoeing, the Lake Arpy is truly a cerulean jewel encrusted in the middle of a verdant valley. It's position also allows for beautiful pictures on the upper Aosta Valley and the Italian side of the Mont Blanc.

Parking near the Hotel La Gentianella near Morgex, we walked along a well-maintained footpath running through woods along the side of a scenic valley. The path was relatively flat and easy-going. After an hour's ramble, we arrived at the Lago d'Arpy, a splendid Alpine lake...More

it's an amazing piece of nature - took a trip on nice shiny day, when the lake was surrounded with snow, so as the trail itself. However snow wasn't too deep to walk on, so all was perfect - lake was still accessible (1 hour...More

You can walk to the lake from Morgex (a long walk!) or from the village of Arpy (also a long uphill walk) where the walk is signposted. Or, as a previous reviewer mentioned, you can start the walk at a higher elevation by parking opposite...More
