The famous pomegranate fountain in the courtyard and the frescoes of the portico are of an extraordinary expressive power. Here are two reasons for this apparently humble building to be one of the most significant and fascinating castles of the...more

The castle is small and very well preserved, with lovely frescoes and period furniture. The guide provided an excellent tour of the castle, provided that you understand Italian. Not sure if yours are available in other languages. It appears that you need to join a...More

The castle of Issogne seen from the outside is the classic case in which you don't have to trust what you are looking at. It's not a fortress but a small palace, with an entrance on a loving garden that will lead you to the...More

Lovely decorated castle, definitely worth a visit. Only guided visits are allowed and guide speaks Italian. Guide did give abstract in English and the frescoes and inventory of the castle are beautiful.

Loved it! It was cold, guide was taking the tour in Italian language, but he pointed out few things in English special for us, which was very nice. Frescoes were wonderful and well preserved. Couldn't believe they so old! enjoyed every minute of 1hour tour!

Very nice caste with a lot of frescos. I recommend to visit in conjunction with the Verres castle because they are historically connected somehow and they are really close each other. Tour guide very professional providing a lot of interesting historical details.
