A 30-minute walk from the SW corner of the main square of Metsovo (and a steep climb back up!) brings you to this charming 14th century monastery with magnificent frescoes from the 17th century and a beautiful carved and gilded iconostasis. The resident female caretaker...More

It is about 30 minutes down to the monastery and 1 hour back up the hill. It is a pleasant walk. U can also drive. Also check out the winery, cheese factory and the art gallery.

An amazing tiny chapel smothered in 14th century wall art. A strenuous walk to/from Metosovo town centre so be prepared and check opening hours.

This small monastery became our favorite! We visited the place all by ourselves as it was very close to our hotel. We spent hours near the church tower and got a glimpse of the other monasteries around. There's a tomb there of a monk who...More

The path to the monastery is quite and beautiful. Nicely fitted rocks in the path makes it easier for walking. It is a 30 to 40 minute walk from the center ( depending on the pace ) but the pictures from the path and the...More
