We went on 14/8/23 family with two children while we were on vacation in Kastoria I wanted the children to visit Metsovo. We entered Metsovo from the Central entrance. The roads were jammed, the parking lot was full. There was no traffic warden to regulate this situation. We had to leave the car behind other parked cars. We only went to get something to eat for the children when we turned around we found a call. The calls were to cars with out-of-county license plates. Further down, the cars that were across the street from the pastry shop and belonged to the locals did not have a call. We didn't see or hear a traffic warden during our entire stay. You should, since you are a tourist place, put cones in the places where you are not allowed to park and even better if you can't serve so many cars, close the entrances. Since you are finally in the Metsovo open-air shopping center, make sure you have parking, as all shopping centers have .

Small village on the way from meteora to ioanina. In the mountainous region. Worth a stop from lunch. Walk around a few minutes and enjoy the views. If you’re not in a hurry then worth the stop. A lot of tourist pass there. So it really depends on the time you have.

We stopped in this little mountain village on our trip to Lefkada. It is charming! The food is fantastic at any tavern and the landscape is fantastic!

I have been several times in Metsovo. Whenever I visit the square I always have the feeling that historical events took place over here. Apart from that I like this place as it is crowded by all ages.

Stopped here on a group tour for about an hour, Metsovo is a very scenic and touristy town. Enjoyed just walking around and taking photos and having a relaxing drink at a cafe. The prices charged at the cafe we stopped at were quite expensive even by Greek standards.

This is a very pretty town on a very steep hillside. You need to be reasonably fit to fully explore the steep winding little streets barely accessible by car. Watch out for the parking...wherever it's meant to be located...we managed to pick up a ticket in the Main Street. Very difficult to find anything as street maps are non existent and everything is frustratingly hard to find. Other than the beautiful church in the main square the others were closed when eventually found!

The small square opposite Averof Garden has two statues. Both fighters during the liberation of Mesovo from Ottoman Turks in 1912.
It is a gathering point for locals and very close there are many shops selling local goods and souvenirs.
Try the local delicacies! They are super yummy!

I LOVED this city! Classic Greek village, the square came alive at night with every generation represented and in there place (men on the bench or taking a stroll, kids playing in the park, etc). But even in the morning it was so quaint with the Father/Priest out greeting his flock. I could have sat her for hours and people watched (which is likely what the old men were doing). Lots of restaurants and I wish I remembered the name of the one we went to. The food was wonderful and so was the service (see picture). The owner gave us a a small flan/pudding for dessert . It was a wonderful night.

When I first came here 20 years ago Metsovo was a rare pearl. Now It became ugly. So commercial and noisy. I'll never come back again.there are hundreds better places in Greece. No parking. Traffic jam all the way. Heavy smoke of burned meat all over..yak
