Not open often. Look out for Santa at Christmas. Magical experience for children. Look on Facebook for Friends of Pontypool Park

Stunning inside. A real treat to see. The walls and floors decorated with many shells. This grotto only seems to open around Easter time. Such a shame.

very bery nice place to visit if you like very very long walks uphill anybody with walking probelms should not go there

Only found out it opened up reading other reviews. I still enjoyed the walk up there and looking around the outside of it. Good views too

Walked all the way up to find it was closed, the walk up is over 40 mins, there should be a sign up somewhere detailing the opening hours so you DONT waste your time

requires a bit of a walk, but well worth it to see the groyyo covered with shells, sometimes there are poetry events there

The grotto is uniquely covered inside with not only shells but bones, believed to be deer and sheep that once roamed the hillside. Part of the Hanbury estate, it was once thought to be home to a hermit. Very quirky, but open for only a...More

This should be a must to visit if visiting Pontypool park in the summer months, as it is only open then. very intresting decoration and history!
