This is a great place to visit, especially in the summer/autumn. The only downside is that the interior is not open very often. When it is the views are superb from the top.

What can be better than a walk starting in Pontypool Park (free parking) that takes you passed the Shell grotto as well. Good boots needed for the short walk to the Tower where you have stunning views of Torfaen and beyond on a clear day.

This folly has been renovated and some years ago (approx 20 years ago) was reopened by Prince Charles. On a nice sunny day it is wonderful up there.

So beautiful. Can't believe it took me so long to visit; I've been looking at the tower from my classroom window for years. This has definitely made it onto my list of favourite places. Just one tip; wear ear muffs or a woolly hat -...More

One of the loveliest walks above Pontypool runs from Trevethin, past the Folly Tower and onto the Grotto at the top of Pontypool park. The Folly Tower is a great landmark, although the one there now is a fairly modern copy of the original. It...More

This folly was partial demolished because it was a landmark to the R O F glascoed Factory. It can be reached by car and is well worth a visit as the folly has been rebuilt
