Four Sacred Sites Associated with Lord Buddha Life Pilgrimage Tour (9 Days)

Four sacred sites associated with Lord Buddha Life, that a pious person should visit and look upon with feelings of reverence. LUMBINI ‘Here the Tathagata [the one who has gone beyond all transitory phenomena] was born.’ BODHGAYA ‘Here the Tathagata became fully enlightened.’ SARNATH ‘Here the Tathagata set in motion the wheel of the dhamma.’ KUSHINAGAR ‘Here the Tathagata passed away into the state of nirvana in which no element of clinging remains!’ And the monk, the nun, the layman or laywoman who has faith should visit these places. And whoever, should die on such a pilgrimage with his heart established in faith, at the breaking up of the body after death will be reborn in a realm of heavenly happiness.

This is a busy temple but also has a powerful spiritual atmosphere. There are various pujas going on throughout the day. One can also hire a pandit to perform pinddan of one's departed ancestors. The falgu river is just behind the temple, one can also perform the cremation of departed family members. Inside the garbha gruha, one can offer flowers etc to the Lord and make other offerings. It's a must visit for people who are visiting Gaya. One has to leave the shoes outside or at one of the shops.

Lord Gadadhara ( a manifestation of Sriman Narayana ) is worshipped here . An enclosure with his lotus feet at the centre is the main vigraha . We can touch n offer our prayers to the Lord's lotus feet . Highly sacred n auspicious . Gaya tirtha and Maa Mangala Gauri temple and Akshaya Vata are all in one km circle from Sri Vishnu padam temple . Gaya is approximately 230 kms from Varanasi .

Great visit. People from different parts of India visit the place for the after death rituals. But, beware of the priests out there. They will loot you in the name of god.
