Great view from the top, so much history being preserved. The managers were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Stunning views from the windows and the top verandah of the Tower. Spiral staircase very old and feels it. History lesson and exercise class all rolled up in the one afternoon.

Lots of steps but not steep stairs. The wooden steps go up very gradually with platforms every 10-20 steps. Resulting in lots of going around and around before arriving at the top, this provides in unusual and good photo opportunities inside the tower, as well as lovely views at the top. Interesting attraction for kids.

Small educational museum to start was interesting! Lovely views from the top after climbing up the tower which was fun. Another highlight was the owner, a very lovely woman that kindly pointed out other places of interest on our route, so helpful!

We visited the Shot Tower on our first day in Hobart. It's a short, easy 20 minute car trip for amazing views. The 259 wooden steps up were easy enough (even for a very unfit 50+ year old) with wooden platforms every 10 steps or so. The photos you get are well worth it. Now to Pete. What a warm... More

I had a fabulous time at Shot Tower. The tower is fabulously imposing in its position on the highway. The small museum you enter before the climb was interesting, and gave me a greater appreciation of the construction and purpose of the building. The climb up was good, and I really enjoyed the magnificent spiral staircase and photo opportunities it... More

Yes it is quite a climb, but the view is breathtaking. This is a quant tourist attraction and certainly old school which provided much of the charm. Interesting story and a simply wonderful view.

We had been talking to an old friend about Hobart and he spoke so highly of the shot tower experience that he had made in the early eighties that was a must do when in the area, we had to tick it off the bucket list, we booked our ticket and we where so happy about the trip we could... More

We were driving along the Hobart Coast line and came across the Shot Tower sign, after another bend we saw the tower. You cannot miss it. We spoke to the lady downstairs and it was an $8.00 climb fee. We watched a brief DVD and away we went. (The lady that ran the place was wonderful). Great views from the... More
