We did the full tour. It was very interesting walking and climbing through the terraced coffee fields up to where the coffee beans are washed and dried and prepared for market. The views were fabulous. Then we did the coffee tasting which was quite involved and very informative. It reminded one of wine tasting. We learned a lot and had... More

We did the full tour and tasting and it was really an eye opening experience into the coffee world. The final product tasted very soft and almost sweet. You do not need any sugar or milk with such coffee, there was no bitterness or burned flavor. The tasting procedure was done like in the best winery. This is the best... More

Did the full tour and tasting experience -- really exceptionally done, on par or better than similar experiences at wineries/vineyards. Learned a ton and consumed some fantastic coffee. Special thanks to our host Alberto, who did a wonderful job teaching us about the plantation and process; not to mention his accommodating us by doing the tour in (excellent) English.

On a tip from a friend, claiming to have tasted the best cup of coffee ever, I was intrigued to try the new Cafe San Alberto in Cartagena. My son and I, both coffee enthusiast, cautiously examined our cup of tinto before taking that first sip. The aroma was fantastic! But, when we tasted the coffee our faces lit up!... More

The cafe helado and the latte frio are the best I have had anywhere. The coffee is not at all bitter and has lots of fruity flavor. View is awesome, service excellent, but it is a little out of the way (expected of a place up so high in the mountains). The drive there passes through a giant coffee hacienda... More

A good place to sit on the terrace, have the manager sit next to you and tell you the story of the coffee plantation, and taste one of the finest coffees in the world. The Cafe San Alberto has won medals in international contests worthy of even the finest wineries in France and the Napa Valley.

I did a coffee tasting at San Alberto with two more tourists and we got a bit disappointed. We asked the receptionist of our hostel to make the reservation and she was told that they recently increased the price from 40.000 to 75.000 pesos, but that the tasting remains the same as before (2,5 hour), so we decided to do... I had a private tour of the property with Guillermo who showed me all the steps and processes in the coffee production here and was happy to answer all my questions. We did a fragrance, aroma and taste test which was both fun and educational and I started and finished the tour with delicious coffee made by different methods. Thoroughly... More
