Coffee Luwak is really delicious. It's Halal👍.
Warm welcome by Pak Rizki who was very friendly, funny, humble & patiently explained to us the process of how civet coffee is produced.
After the tour, you may buy the Coffee, with no obligations.

While waiting for a flight from Jakarta, noticed that there is a coffee shop after the security clearance just before the departure gate. Once inside we noticed that one of their offering is coffee Luwak & it was expensive. During that visit also learned about why it is so expensive & the role of palm civet cat like animal in its production process.

While in Bandung, we got an opportunity to visit & see the entire process of making Kopi Luwak explained nicely. We also chanced to handle the animal itself & before departure tasted the coffee in their restaurant, gave them feedback on the tour & clicked lot of pictures.

This is a neat & clean place with actual coffee plant, several animals, their handlers, illustration, samples, an audio visual room & they provide good education in about one hour time frame. It was a different kind of experience. Chikole village is quite close to the volcanic craters & it get quite cold after dark to fancy a coffee. This was a good detour suggested by the local driver.

Parking is limited & approach road is a bit narrow after leaving the main road. You can buy the product at this outlet.

Upon arrival, we have been briefed that the Luwak Project was a government pilot project to harvest Luwak coffee.

We have managed to take photo of the Luwak animal and tasted the coffee. It was selling at IDR50k per cup. It tasted authentic.

Read about this place and decided to try visit.
It was great and educational and they really explained the process and you get to hands on trying the process or holding the civets..

Had wanted to purchase but realised they gave different prices and they were too hard selling n pushy that it became very irritating.

Tried the food there, not bad. Liked the satay and ayam bakar..there was something that was recommended and said to be their speciality..did not really like it but it was different and not so bad.The ambience was peaceful and nice when we ate..

I love coffee and I have been a barista myself. So seeing the process of the Kopi Luwak was a 'must do' me. First we ordered different kinds of coffee. Afterwards we did a short - but educative - coffee tour about how the Luwak is made. I didn't expect we could play with a tame civet cats during the tour. At the end we bought green unroasted beans and some Kopi Luwak in cup sachets.

Bring your kids along to have an educational tour. Get friendly to a civetcat. Learn the process of how the luwak coffee is being produced. We didnt buy any luwak coffee as we have tasted it in Bali. No obligations to buy the coffee.

We wanted to try the Kopi Luwak coffee as it is something you need to taste to have an opinion about it, which is good. The taste of the coffee is good, but it doesn't have the aftermath of regular coffee with the possibility of head ache after drinking two to three cups in the morning.
The guide who showed us around was friendly, could explain in a good way what the process is and told that you could also take pictures with the 'luwak' on you.
As two animal lovers we think it is a little sad to see these animals in a cage and keeping them to produce this kind of coffee, but how else to pick up the dung of this animal to process it.

For coffee lover, this place offer everything you need to know about Luwak Coffee. Here you can see how they take care of the Luwak, Feed them coffee fruit and process the coffee beans taken from the Luwak feces. You can also take your picture with a living Luwak. After you are finished with the tour, you can relax and taste the famous Luwak Coffee in their cafe. Try their Pisang Goreng (fried Banana) as a snack while enjoying your coffee.

As a first visit to coffee making derived from animal " droppings", it turned out to be an interesting discovery. The process involved is rather clean, hence the coffee taste is quite good. And expensive too.
