Entrance fee Rp300k per foreigner. Many souvenier shops. DO NOT need a guide. They may pester & tell license guide is needed. Ignore them. View was spectacular. Bring a light jacket as its windy. A strong, heady and healthy sulphurous smell greets one as soon as the car enters the protected estate of this volcano. Not unpleasant though and at the altitude, very bracing. If you want to visit TP prepare yourself to dig deep into your pocket. The entrance fee is set to a steep 200,000 IDR per person (foreigners) on weekdays and even higher on weekends (300,000 IDR). Tanguban Perahu is reachable by car but you can not enter the crater. You can take a guide and go down a path towards the other crater about 1 hour walk from the top. on 14/03/2014 we visited tangkuban perahu at bandung it took us two hours to travel from our hotel which is at padma to the destination subsequently we have to pay IDR 634,000 up to the peak. i believe that you have to visit this place. the scenic is amazing confirm your visit the hotel or tourism board, since sometimes this site is closing down due to mountain's activity condition.

Bad experience in Tangkuban perahu with lots of peddlers keep stalking you and ur family to buy their stuff. If wanna buy please please please haggle as low as possible atleast 60%low than the price they stated. Need to be firm with the peddlers if not u will not able to enjoy the view. Some sulphuric smell come out from the mountain, but not that serious type, still can be breath, those suffering from breathing problem advice to bring mask or at the entrance they do sell mask.

This place not recommended for foreigner. Too overprice!! 300.000 IDR, better go to Kawah Putih. It just overcrowded inside Tangkuban Perahu.
