Only tasting options was $50 for their Spring release. Expensive, but so are their wines.
Knowledgable, attentive staff with just the right amount of conversational interaction.
Place smelt smokey, tainting the glasses, once was enough.

For $50 I got to taste eight very good wines in a lovely room with a great view. A treat was a visit from the cat, Bailey. We tasted two vintages of the Underhill Shiraz together, which was a great idea. The 2020 ($125) was quite light but the museum release 2015 ($165) was dark and rich and, for me, the best wine of the day.

We had a lovely wine tasting session, and the setting is magnificent. Our host was Ian, whose knowledge and enthusiasm was infectious.
After the tasting was over, we needed to walk to Medhurst, but a sudden torrential rainstorm made that problematic. We are indebted to Ian who very kindly offered to drive us in his car. Well beyond the call of duty and much appreciated.

We booked a private wine tasting session for a Sunday noon with some friends and just loved the I overall experience. The staff at Yarra Yering turned Restrictions due to COVID into a benefit by offering private room wine tasting. Our host was extremely knowledgeable and may I say truly passionate about wine. We sampled 8 wines ranging from White to Red and each wine was introduced in great detail, even in which zone of the property the vines were located. The entire tasting experience or should I call it class was 60 minutes and we walked away more knowledgeable, happy and with a couple of boxes of wine.
This experience is sophisticated and consequently not available at low cost. Prices per bottle are also very high, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for and not without reason is Yarra Yering voted No. 1 vineyard in Australia
There is easy parking, stunning views and everything is super tidy.

Wow this is top end Australian wine. I have to say I was impressed with the range and the quality, again as I’ve now begun to expect the staff were both knowledgeable and very friendly. These are serious wines both at the bottom level to their Carrodus Range which would set you back $275 for a bottle. We didn’t tasted these and went for their currant releases which was 13 wines for $20 along with their Museum Releases, 3 wines for $25. For the quality of the wines tasted I think their tasting prices were fair. I would definitely like to go back again when in the Yarra Valley

Excited to visit Yarra Yering after hearing so much about the delicious wines . The scenery fabulous , the cellar door was stunning. However on arrival we felt unwelcome by the staff , we were not able to establish a rapport like other wineries in the area . It felt very cold and unfriendly; discouraging us to buy any of the delicious wines . A stark contrast from the other wineries in the area . Disappointing.

Dani & Bailey the Cat made us very welcome at Yarra Yering today. The wines are all perfect examples of best of their varietal. Each was excellently described by our hostess and the wine tasting notes are rich in detail. Certainly one of the best visits to a winery I have enjoyed.
Just get there.

I had heard a lot about this large and popular winery. I felt the whole complex looking quite rundown and uninviting .
The views however from it are lovely.

The Yarra Valley [like the Mornington Peninsula] provides a dilemma for any oenophile with the plethora of cellar door options. Sensibly, three or four in one day with a good lunch, should satisfy anyone’s needs.
In its fiftieth year, Yarra Yering is a fantastic place to start in the Yarra Valley.
Sarah Crowe [James Halliday’s 2017 Winemaker of the Year] continues to enhance the highest quality fruit that the property is famous for, especially by modifying the historic use of new oak.
The display of old bottles, the welcoming fire, the quality of wines on taste, the views over the vineyard, the ambience of the tasting area and the fact it is open 7 days a week make it a great experience. All enhanced by a friendly & knowledgeable cellar door team to guide you through the range.
An understandable tasting fee will apply that is refundable against any purchases made.

We walked in while another group was having a tasting. We were not acknowledged at all, however we waited while the group finished. Once they had left, the staff member stated what a lovely day it was. There was no service or conversation at all, we were ignored as she went around opening windows and tidying the register area, without any greetings. We left, as we were made to feel very unwelcome. Disappointing as this cellar door had been recommended by locals.
