Medhurst , a small family owned Winery is slightly off the main “WineRoute” but so glad we visited. Shane was extremely knowledgeable and willing to spend time explaining the wines produced there and the climatic conditions. Being a smaller winery they limit the numbers inside which is so much more pleasurable. Tranquil setting with a range of great wines, particularly their Rose. Thanks Shane for a memorable tasting session.

We hadn’t heard of this winery until someone mentioned it at a tasting room elsewhere in Yarra. What a gem. It is a lovely setting overlooking the countryside and the wines were some of the best we have had in Australia. We ended up buying the Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Rose. It is not often that my wife and I like such a broad spectrum at one winery. We had Yo (or is it Eo not sure) a very accommodating and helpful Asian gent in the tasting room. If you are in Yarra stop here even for a few minutes. Their production is small but special and it was our last vineyard on our trip or we would have bought more.

Second vineyard as part of our wine tour.

Some amazing wine tasting - the place is huge, modern and beautiful. Large space so the noise isn't as disturbing as our first spot (Coldstream Hills).

We were introduced to their wines and thank goodness people here were so much friendlier than Coldstream Hills. He took the time to explain to everyone, offered some snacks to go with the wine too. I almost bought but did not, as I only wanted one or two bottles and shipping it back to my country is a little expensive for just the few bottles and carrying it myself is not possible either. So I didn't get it in the end. But it was the rose that I like (If I remember correctly). If you get a chance to pop by, do try their rose. It's something different and I really liked it (coming from a non-rose person)

5 stars for experience in Medhurst!

This is a little off the beaten path, but as you head up the hill, you realize what a special place this is to taste wines. We did not get the chance to taste the Reserve wines, but enjoyed the Estate series. Enjoy the art on the property as well.

I recently visited Medhurst on a wine tour. This was my favourite vineyard that we visited. The setting was just perfect and I love that it is a small ,family business. The wine was stunning and made better by Simon who explained about the wines and the process involved. If you are in the Yarra valley this should be top of your list!

This is one of our best hiding places in the Yarra valley area,
Great wine to sample or buy, amazing varieties of sharing food platters
The vanilla slices are to die for - 1 slice will feed 2 people, coffee is great also.
Great place to sample some wine or buy a bottle of wine sitting out in the deck chairs overlooking the valley. Very friendly staff who all love their work and have all been their for many years
We love to visit when ever we can.

After spending over a day in the Yarra Valley I found some of the wines to be very average. Perhaps I went to the wrong places. But then I was recommended Medhurst winery which Was a big surprise. The wines were the best that I tried by far, and the staff were great. Highly recommended.

I've been to Medhurst Winery many times, even just to purchase their wonderful Rose. It is in a very pretty location, wonderful views and it is a small winery which adds to its charm. You can sit inside or outside. They have recently expanded their wine tasting area and car park. Food menu is limited but that's OK. On arrival at the winery, you drive past a lake with lots of ducks and up the hill to the winery and cellar door. Service isn't fast but it is friendly.

It was our first stop in our "wine tasting tour", I've been there with a group of seven people from the hospitality, the location is really nice, quite modern, design and clean. We had a free wine tasting with maybe 5 or 6 different wine. One lady served us, she was just amazingly nice and she knows her job well, all of us were agree she was really good. And wine are also good.

Medhurst Winery is a regular haunt because of the excellent wine, stylishly simple menu and the friendliness. Bidelia, the cellar door host, always inspires a great conversation about Medhurst wines and it is abundantly clear that she knows a great deal about the winemaking process and product. We have previously enjoyed being at Medhurst in driving rain sitting costly inside looking through the floor to ceiling windows. An outdoor table for two on a sunny day is equally inviting. Medhurst feels like it is on the beaten path and you are guaranteed to receive a warm welcome. Enjoy the wine tasting and choose your favourite to take home to continue the good times.
