We visites Vagli Sotto, and desided to take a trip here, it is absolutely worth a visit! A beautiful oasis, old stonehouses and a fantastic view.

Easily accessible via winding mountain roads this is a real oasis of calm beauty. An amazing restored shepherds village full of beautiful stone houses now used for holidays and stunning views of the surrounding mountains it's a great place for a wander and a picnic or a full on hike up into the mountains. We enjoyed the great bar/restaurant where we ate wonderfully tasty pizza. Freshly cooked in a wood fired oven it's no wonder we were the only visitors as the place was packed full with locals - always a good sign of good food.…

Met a man in the town by the lake who said 'you must go up to Campocatino it's something!' So up we decided to go, now we were driving but some walked and it's a long steep climb. The benefit is a superb view at the top and a wonderful little restaurant. This is hearty food suitable for those that have earned it walking the high trails but good for everyone. We shared an ante pasto, a mixture including melon and prosciutto, tomato and mozzarella and 3 different brushetta, then tagliatelle ai funghi, and then wild boar stew followed by homemade fruit tart.
