We're new NT members and live locally so decided to try it. We parked in the first car park and took a lovely walk to the house. We had a look round but had to go to the Visitor's Office at the second car park...More

Stopped here on way to holiday cottage, thinking of returning. What a beautiful house, small but wonderfully restored. Making the house is a must for big kids and adults- found in an upper room. Super tea rooms, gorgeous grounds and natural play path.

Good choice of walks on arrival, and some very fine long views to be had. The layout and room descriptions told an interesting story of the houses history, supplemented by the ever cheery NT volunteer guides Some beautiful exterior views also

We visited here at the end of a day when we had also been to both Croft castle and Berrington Hall. Although much smaller this is so different. Beautiful setting with moat etc. Lovely timbered buidings.

The house, built in 1425, is gorgeous. Visitors are able to spend as long as they like inside. The grounds are also beautiful. Beware that the car park is a very long way from the entrance, over a mile, but near the actual house.

If you like the countryside, walking and exploring then this place is for you. Best to go with a dog - loads of land to walk around. We could quite simply live here, well I could, okay there would be no BT infinity but who...More

Luckily we visited on a fine sunny day so could linger and enjoy the view of the house. Roses on the wall and birds, swifts?, swooping around added to the scene. Not a lot to see inside the house but still worth a visit. The...More
