The Battlefield Tour is highly recommended for anyone with an interest in the Wars of the Roses or the Battle of Towton specifically. The Battlefield Society volunteers are very passionate and knowledgeable - what a pity, as the greatest loss of life on English soil,...More

An excellent experience. Both guides were very knowledgeable and the site itself offers a great insight into the battle. I'd thoroughly recommend it. It's the best £3 I've spent in living memory.

A good start point is a memorial cross on the A1217 where there is off road parking for about 8 cars. Take the A1217 south out of Towton and it's about half a mile on the right. Allow 2 hours for the walk. It has...More

I can't add more than above, it's interesting to hear of the chapel discovery. I always associated the Lead chapel as being the site of memorial. Maybe Richard 111s site could be included in tour?
