This place is quite quaint, in an old fashioned "club" style. Very friendly and very "volunteer-esque" place with lots of enthusiastic people milling around. It has a sort of junk yard feel to it. I don't mean that to sound cruel - it's just not got the funding of a Duxford or whatever. So the planes are kind of as... More

We visited the museum with 15 Air Scouts from 1st Hainault Scout group. The tour was excellent and so engaging , all our scouts (10-14 yr olds) said it was brilliant and informative. The fact the museum is a working museum and run by enthusiasts adds so much to the experience. We had really enjoyable day exploring a great set... More

I've just come back from a tour around this museum with the Battlefields Trust. Our guide was fantastic! He was so proud of everything which had been created by that company and in that county (Hertfordshire) and had a catchy enthusiasm about everything. How lovely that you can touch the artefacts and even sit in several of the aeroplanes! The... More

Only live a mile away and had never been thereat was really interesting with an abundance of enthusiastic voulanteer guides to show you round and explain the relevance of every artical. There are lots of hands on and planes to explore sit in cockpits and sit in fuselages ,its quite good for children that could be left unattended as there... More

Went to the aircraft museum and wasn't expecting much but was a great visit. Being a small museum you can get really close to the aircraft. Friendly staff on hand to talk you through and answer any questions you might have. Really recommended!

It is an unusual but lovely way to spend a saturday morning with your kids or grandchildren. Quite informative and takes you out of the house to see something different. We had a nice lunch in a nearby pub, Black Horse which was a perfect way to end saturday morning trip.

Had a very nice visit here looking at all the aircraft especially the Mosquito's. I was very impressed with how helpful the volunteers were in giving out out information especially the information about the shaping of the windows causing fatigue failure in Comet which is something I've never come across before.

Started life as the Mosquito Museum and they have the original prototype 'Mossie' there. Also other Mossies and various other De Haviland aircraft. A very interesting museum

I took my grandson, he was enthralled, he got to sit in a fighter plane cockpit, the museum is much improved since my last visit, the restored Mosquito is a sight to see, a great way to spend a few hours

Museum is run by a host of really super friendly volunteers who are all exceptionally knowledgable. The planes themselves are well kept, although one or two could do with a bit of an airing (the furnishings are a bit damp and musty). Lots to do and see, would recommend 2-3 hours minimum to get around the place properly.
