Gold Tanzanite 4.3 CT ring paid $2,800 see below card for quality description
Jan 2020 • Solo
A plastic card of authenticity was given. My hope is that the owner indeed was honest of quality. The picture does not do it justice. Loved going to shop so much to see .🥰 Maybe I’ll be back after my safari in the crater today. I read a few bad reviews about Tanzanite quality and wasI a bit concerned 😟 but for know I’ll enjoy my ring.

My husband bought a Maasai tribe carved piece with mother & children so pretty paid
$240. Pricey items but we love them.

Kensington Safari guide took us there. I might have him stop in a Maasai tribe village for more souvenirs

Best place to buy things
Feb 2020
We were recommended this huge shop by some friends. It is by far the best place to shop if you hate haggling. Things are a good price and it s easy . We went here on our way from Lake Manyara to The Serengeti. Allow yourself at least half an hour! I would have loved more time!

Fun place to explore for exotic art and tee-shirts as well
Jan 2020
The African Galleria is a part museum with price tags and part tee-shirt/souvenir shop. There is exotic African (Tanzanian) art - with price tags. We fell in love with an elephant head sculpture but the price to ship it home was rather high. and this did not include the purchase price of the air.

Negotiating the price is expected, we purchased a set of earrings for my wife and negotiated 25% of the price (perhaps we achieved too little).

Beautiful center
Jan 2020 • Family
African Gallery is a beautifully designed center. Tanzanite mining information, pleasant staff and a great variety of crafts. When it is completed it will be a fabulous visitor/ tourist center.
We were told the owner is also invested in community improvements, building a school, providing clean water source. It creates the oppirtunity for a tourist to use their shopping for good!

Tourist trap over priced
Jan 2020 • Friends
On our way to Ngorongoro crater park, our driver insisted that we stop here for loo break and stretching and of course to buy something. The place is huge and stores pretty much everything in terms of local produce of Tanzania art, craft, textile, jewelry, etc and an entire section on Tanzanite. Everything over priced. The toilet is really nice though. Not a bad place for pit stop.

Stop here only if you need to use the toilet
Nov 2019
This place offers a huge selection of African artwork, jewelry, knickknacks and other touristy items. The building is very large, modern and immaculately clean.

BUT, the prices are absurdly rediculously high beyond belief. As an example, we spotted a toy giraffe that was identical to one at our hotel's gift shop for $8. Of course everyone knows that hotel gift shop prices are notoriously high priced. At the African Galleria the price was $25!! We also walked up to the Tanzanite counter and, again, triple the price elsewhere. The place is a ripoff and even if you beat them down 60% by negotiating, you are still paying way too much.

But it is a good place to visit the toilet and have a soft drink -- nothing more.

The place obviously gives drivers a cash reward for bringing in customers. I don't know if its a flat fee rather than a percent of the amount purchased.

Perfect food and gifts shop
Oct 2019 • Couples
We were group of 14 people of all ages. We stopped here for lunch. We ordered Bhajia, pizzas, some vegetarian dishes which was delicious and filled hungry belly. Staff provided excellent customer services. Whilst seating were outside we also had heavy rain fall during our lunch for about 20 minutes.Only issues was that there are few cats going through our feet under the tables. Also there were hundreds of ants on the wall ... actually there was a hole in the wall. No idea where that lead to.

Prices of the items in the shop are little higher compare to Arusha shops.

Amazing store with something for everyone
Oct 2019
Our group of 7 visited this wonderful store twice on our African safari. The variety of items to purchase was excellent from high end souvenirs to inexpensive gifts. Everyone in our tour really enjoyed our visit to this store and was pleased with value of the items purchased

I need to mention how impressed i was with the special service we received. We purchased an item and when it was being wrapped by the check out person, a piece fell out. We only found out that it was missing when we unwrapped the package back in the US. We contacted the store and Kishore Loyal arranged to have a replacement item shipped to us Very impressive customer service.

I would highly recommend visiting this store and you will find many interesting gifts for family and friends back home

Great place to visit and the things you can buy are more expensive but they are better quality. You need a bit of time to look around everywhere in there
