Great school concept

I went to learn more about the school, but ended up learning way more about how to improve my own sustainable living practices! I went on a Friday when they host their local farmers market for student, parent and Indonesian enterprises. I learned something new at every table, like the school has their own Bio Bus and hosts the only... More

Very interesting houses, villas and school itself. Unusual place, very interesting to take a look. Friendly staff, i joined the ongoing tour. Interesting to see, educating a lil, but nothing else to do. Enjoyed the visit.

As a grad student studying environmental studies, I got to say this is a DREAM school that I wish I had attended. But like many other reviewers who were there previously, I somehow felt that this is a very polished school that is kinda distant from its community, it's like there're two worlds in and out of the school. Still,... More

In theory, the idea of this school is nice, with its environmental bent. But the whole institution reeks of class privilege. The local population has hardly any representation in the student body, and the tour has the gall to ask for donations so that these local kids can attend the school (after having spent a ridiculous amount of money for... There are two issues I have with this tour, the first that besides the bamboo building material there is little else eco about this school, electricity, paper waste, modern technology abounds. The second is the constant asking of donations to continue their work starting at US$5000!!!! the card you have to load with money to be able to buy a... More

I´m interested in school projects and have visited many ¨famous¨ ones myself. We were lucky, as there were only 8 people on the tour. Kate, the tour guide, a parent herself was very well informed about everything as her own children go to this school. She gave a lot of examples, how lessons are given, but we were not allowed... I am an architect who always love sustainable architecture, particularly with schools. I arranged a half day tour with The Elysian Hotel for the Green School ,Bamboo Factory and Green Village tour and it was fantastic experience. The three places were not easy to found and required our driver to ask the locals. However, we managed to arrived at the... More

We visited and were taken on An hour's guided tour of the expansive and beautifully designed compound. School wasn't in session so we could only imagine what would be taught in class, and how lessons were conducted. We were told that there was no homework nor tests nor exams. Yet students graduate with a bachelor's in...? The class room furniture... More

This is my second visit to the green school and I was hugely disappointed. The main purpose was to let my wife experience the place. I was given a very enjoyable tour 2 years ago so expectations were high. Definitely not worth the SGD$18 per person we had to pay this round. There is a well written review before my... More

We visited yesterday with our conference group of 28 local and international development workers who expected to see the school. Instead, for our $30 each ($840 total!) we saw only the camp section, then were whisked out to the Green Village before we even realized that we would not be allowed to see the actual school that we had heard...
