Great little place offering so much history for the area and throughout the Pioneer valley. Short drive from Mackay City but we'll worth it.

The staff here were extremely helpful and knowledge about their gorgeous area and the coffee shop on their verandah was the best coffee we have had on our trip around Australia and the view where we got to enjoy them by the river was stunning.

We popped into Melba house and were really pleased we did. There is a really lovely well stocked gift shop with some really beautiful and unique gifts all very reasonable priced. The staff are extremely welcoming and can answer any question. Great coffee as well!

Having recently visited Melba house we could not recommend this place enough the people who volunteer to run Melba House were so knowledgeable about the region of Mackay. We learnt so much in a short visit.

We happened upon this place quite by accident. But so glad we stopped. We all learned a lot about Dame Nelly, such a wonderful collection of memorabilia as well. Also the best information center in Mackay!

I have to give the staff/guide 5 stars for his knowledge of Nelly Melba. Although we arrived just on closing time, he was patient with us and very helpful. However, the displays all look a bit dusty and tired. I would have dearly loved to...More
