Love this place. The key is to see all the shows as you get some good information on the animals and what this zoo is all about. Enjoy a stroll around and be prepared with water and comfortable shoes. A great family outing. Highly recommend if you are in the area only 1 hour from Brisbane.

This was a wonderful experience. You can get up close to many of the animals. Whilst this zoo is large, it is beautiful and exciting. I do recommend good walking shoes, a sun hat and sunblock. It gets pretty hot. The animals are well cared for and look happy. The shops are great. Only recommendation would be to include a... More

This is an incredible zoo! We almost didn't visit it, having previously been to Taronga in Sydney and Lone Pine in Brisbane, but our being fans of Steve Irwin brought us in. I'm glad we made the visit. The crocodile show in the Crocoseum was really cool - the crocs were awesome, but the real win of the show, for... More

I am so happy I made time to visit the Australia Zoo. Steve Irwin and family have created a wonderful experience for animal lovers. What a thrill to come up close to the animal. What a thrill to walk among kangaroos and feed them; see and hold Koalas; to view animals from different parts of the world. The bird and... More

Wow. What a day. This was a brilliant zoo. You walk through different zones and are close/with/in with all the animals. The keepers are very friendly and helpful. It's not stuffy. You can walk through many areas with the koalas, roos , birds and just be with them and touch / feed them. There's no one saying you can't do... More

We stayed in Brisbane and drove up in a hired car. It took about an hour and was really well signposted. Booked a mobility scooter in advance for one of our party. This proved to be a good idea given there are a limited number available and there is a fair amount of ground to cover in the zoo. Koala... More

This Zoo is a fantastic asset to the Sunshine Coast / Glasshouse Mountains region and well worth a visit. The best value for locals is an annual membership as it can be used as a venue for family outings or events with something different every time. It's also a great activity to encourage a little outdoor exercise for the otherwise... More

I was able to walk with a Tiger cub and pat a purring Cheetah. Both absolutely amazing experiences. I enjoyed all the exhibits but loved the Tiger show. Looking forward to bringing my daughters here soon.

Very nice experience overall. The zoo is obviously focused on crocodiles, but you can also see and pat a variety of local animals like kangaroos, wallabies and koalas. The zoo is wide and the vegetation is luscious and mature. The main show of the day features birds and crocodiles and is simply amazing, the birds fly in the audience and... More

We then headed to Australia zoo for Boxing Day! Saw loads of animals and lots of tributes to Steve Irwin Crocodile hunter who set up the zoo. We held some lizards, saw crocodile feeding, and obviously all the big 5 Australian animals. Expensive though...
