About

What an amazing experience! Stella was a great host and welcomed us on their beautiful wineyard surrounded by mountains. We would definitely recommend to go here to taste their great wines with some local food.

In Valle Ossola there have been for some years, (not all) young producers who offer truly exceptional wine produced by Azienda Vinicola Edoardo Patrone
Cellar and vineyard: Borgata Baceno, 51 Domodossola (VB) ITALY

Nebbiolo Prünent Stella
Valli Ossolane DOC Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo Prunent Stella is vinified in red, with maceration for 15 days, the temperatures vary from 26-30° C to favor the extraction of the coloring substance contained in the skin of the grapes. Separation of the seeds on the fifth day to maintain the soft tannins of the wine. Malolactic fermentation in a natural way at the end of alcoholic fermentation. The refinement is done in French oak barriques for approximately 6 months, with a rest on the yeasts using the batonnage technique.
Pairings
It goes well with red meat and game dishes
stewed, tasty/mature cheeses
Recommended serving temperature 20° C
Prunent, the emblematic vine of the Ossola Valley.
Its roots emerge in the 14th century in a will written on 18 May 1309 by Dumino di Pello di Trontano which provided an annual bequest of nine bushels of perpetual wine to the Convent of the Friars Minor of Domodossola.
Our company, recovering the typical vines, produces this rare and sought-after vine which is part of the Nebbioli family.

About the wine tasting: we would taste five wines with appetizers. Each bottle remained where the owner Stella said: pour more if you like it! It started with a board with cheeses and meats, but this turned out to be board one of three. Then she opened three more bottles. An extensive tasting with five stars ;-)

The setting of the tasting is very suggestive. Immersed in the vineyards and with a beautiful view of the mountains and Domodossola.
The wines offered for the 5-glass tasting were pleasant, especially the rosés, both the basin and the testa rusa.
The cutting boards are plentiful and the raw materials are good.
However, although we had wanted to do the tasting for an explanation of the Ossola wines, this was not done and the winemaking methods were not illustrated. Perhaps it was a busy day for the owners, but this did not allow us to fully enjoy the experience, which, in the end, turned out to be an aperitif rather than a tasting. Good quality, no doubt, but not a real tasting at a local producer. Sin!
