Murano is beautiful. The sun shone for us which obviously makes it look at it's best. We caught the water bus here for €1.50. My husband is a wheel chair user and went free. We visited one of the glass factories and went to the museum of glass as well. We loitered for most of the day, enjoyed a cup... More

We took a boat over to Murano for half a day - a lovely place to visit just to wander around the streets. We did find too many glass stores - some genuine Murano glass and others stocking cheap chinese imports. We also visited a glass blowing factory and watched a demonstration. Well worth a visit.

Nice island, not so cosy as Burano but certainly worth visiting. A visit to one of the glass factories is certainly recommended. Beautiful glass shops all over the island.

Following visiting Venice then Murano beacame as an island with no speciality except visiting glass factories. Murano might be a station for more attractive islan -colourful charming Burano. In Murano you find several canals and bridges, a glass museum and glass factories and a lot of glass shops. Reaching Murano is by line 4.1 through San Michele island or directly... More

Lovely quiet island perfect for those who lime to stroll and explore and try to get lost!! Also very good place to stay for those who want easy access to Venice but want to avoid the crowds and tourists on the main island.

The island is small and cutesy, lots of small shops full of Murano Glass. It's definitely a spot to see and shop for gifts!

A must see on a trip to Venice, unlike the main part of Venice it is less busy and life seems a little slower paced. The glass shops are beautiful and you can watch a glass blowing demonstration for free. A great assortment of cafes and restaurants too.

We only spent an afternoon on Murano and it was pretty busy because the weather was beautiful but I suspect it is always busy. I dread to think what it would be like in the summer months. The shops and galleries are just wonderful, not all cheaper than Venice but some of the sizes of investment pieces were breathtaking, even... More

Stayed on Murano the second time at the same hotel... Love the island cause it is not as crowded and expensive as Venice itself! It's clean, all in walking distance, got restaurants, supermarket, shops, all what you need within a "15-minute-walk". Murano is being served with several public bus boats, going to the airport, Lido, cemetery, San Marco's place etc...... More

The collection of shops are wonderful. If you get invited to the private high collections - you will see Museum Quality pieces that are truely amazing. There are shops for every type of buyer. Low end trinkets to high end pieces. You reach the island via a Vaparetto. The island closes for lunch, but then opens back up later. If... More
