The Mt Fuji Station is great and easy to get to and around. I was here often while visiting the Fuji area. I took the Fuji Excursion here, bus to Station 5, and took a bus back to Tokyo from here and it was all very easy and well organized. The station has a Mos Burger, small bakery, shops, and restaurants. Not to much else to say but this is a nice and organized train station.

I used this to meet up with a friend to climb Mt. Fuji.
The trailhead is a little further away, so if you want to go directly, you'll have to take a bus from here to Mt. Fuji No. 5.
This was my first time here, and the torii gates were impressive and beautiful.
The express bus stop is right in front, so it's easy to use.
There's a parking lot, so it seems fine to come by car.

This is the main starting point for those doing the Yoshida Trail. This station is well equipped in terms of food options, shops, seating areas, and washroom facilities. There's free wifi near the information center which was very helpful. Staff do ask visitors to donate money near the start of the trailhead, but of course this is optional and not a mandatory fee to climb or use the trails.

The Fujisan station of Fujikyu Highland railway provides access to the Fujiyoshida city and surrounding tourist spots. The station has a very scenic location and one can see Mount Fuji from the station platforms on a clear day. The station is served by Fujikyu railways and is close by the Kawaguchiko station.
Fujisan station is served by both local and express trains. Also by the Fujisan view express and the FujiTozan densha. IC cards are accepted.
The station has bus terminal for catching a bus to the Fuji five lakes , to Gotenba, to Odawara or highway buses back to Tokyo.
The station has a shopping mall and restaurants. There is wonderful observation deck on the sixth floor of the station building to view Fuji San.

it’s a transit starting point for Fuji. If you want to go to Tokyo or Kyoto or Osaka by bus, then you start from this place at night and you can arrive at Kyoto/Osaka at five in the morning

I was here in a cloudy day, I can slightly see Mt. Fuji. Yet I don't regret it. The weather was just nice (end of August 2015). I love the train station style and I love the train model. It feels like I am inside a train for children in a theme park. I spend around 1hour here, just simply took a walk and sit in the train station. Enjoying the weather and the surroundings. Mt. Fuji Station can be reached by Fujikyu Railway from Kawaguchiko Station. It is also the last stop before the Mt. Fuji 5th station for those who want to climb Mt. Fuji.

There's a MOS Burger and a Daiso (100 Yen shop) on the 4th floor. There's a lot of empty, vacant shop space in this 5 story building over the station.

We chose the wrong time to see Fuji- well I saw a little bit behind the clouds . But the train from Fujisan Station was completely decorated with Thomas and Friends which was fun. We all became kids again. The station is a terminal and there is a nice little shopping mall. We ate just outside which was pleasant .

We loved the fact that this station come shopping mall wasn't at all touristy. We ate at the food court in the basement, My wife & son's loved shopping in the mall & we took the train to Chureito pagoda.

What a beautiful place to visit. Getting here by train and using local buses to get around was very convenient.
I can’t cross it out of my bucket list until I bring back the family here.
Traveling for business is always tough but perks like this makes it a bit easier to deal with.

Hi, does this station have lockers to store baggage while my friends and I go exploring, rather than lugging our luggage around?
Written 1 July 2019
Hi Meikura
There are a few lockers, I would say not more than 20, outside of the station between the Mt Fuji tourist information centre & the main entrance, just across from the bus stops. If you need assistance I am sure the staff at the Mt Fuji tourist information centre will be able to help.

My son and his girlfriend are going to Japan for 10 days. They want to take a day trip to Mt. Fuji from Tokyo. They will have a train pass, but do they need to reserve seats in advance? Also, is there enough to do in the area for one day? Should they take an organized tour or do it on their own? Where should they go to get the best views, etc.
Written 23 May 2017
There should be a tour from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji. It is better to go on an organized tour in a bus as the tour guide explains a lot which travelling individually are missed.
Since we did not visit Mt. Fuji from Tokyo but from the port of Shimizu, as we were on a cruise, I have little idea of the time it takes to travel to Mt. Fuji from Tokyo, but should ideally be done in a day. This information should be available on the internet site through some tour companies.
There are various stations at the base of Mt. Fuji going from station 2 to station 5, the higher the number the closer you get to the peak. When we visited in April, there was still snow at station 2 and tour bus would not take us any higher due to the road conditions.
Mt. Fuji is hidden in clouds most of the time and if you can see it is a magnificent sight. Hope your son and his girlfriend enjoy Mt. Fuji to its fullest.
