Its a nice bridge to visit for 20 minutes... not much to it, but maybe fun for kids. You can park at the Visitor parking and walk across and also go down to the water. Nice for photos.

This is a truly beautiful place to walk, always as magic as the first visit, always as stunning. Go down on its shore or walk in it!

We visited the famed covered bridge in Wakefield, Quebec. Gorgeous in its simplicity, it has a rich history that’s not to be missed.

When the original burnt down, the village raised the capital necessary to rebuild exactly as it was-the result combined with a original settlers homestead located next door give your a sense of the risks run by Canada's settlers when they moved out from the cities into its rural landscape.

Located just 30 min from Ottawa, this attraction is one of the few covered bridged in Canada. It offers nice photo ops, and some peace/tranquility. Lots of history concerning the bridge too, that's documented on-site. Also check out the heritage house/farm not too far from the bridge.

Great photo opps and history lesson.

Park at the Fairbairn House, a stone's throw away.

Well maintained and landscaped entrance, historic plaques inside with info.

All the more important as you read the original bridge burned down in 1984 but was rebuilt by faithful enthusiasts.

Fun place to swim and very pretty. Must be a sting swimmer as there is a current. Nice place to picnic if you can get a rock to sit on. Some people jump into river from bridge, but it’s a little crazy.

We loved walking through the bridge and reading about the history. The Wakefield Covered Bridge is a testiment to this community coming together and rebuilding a piece of their past.

Iconic site, I wove my visit into a longer hike from the village on a sunny day. Definitely pretty site, worth photographing, but expecting more would disappoint. For me, it was part of a leisurely walk to take the air and scenery so it was perfect. Original was lost to arson, so story of how town rebuilt it also worth reading.

Something as simple as walking across this bridge on a sunny day is a great thing to do when visiting Wakefield. Easy to visit even with a disability. No admission and gives you a great view of the Gatineau River
