Emei mountain is 1 of the 4 sacred buddhist mountains of china and a UNESCO site. And this Jinding is right at the summit
It’s 2.5 hrs by car from chengdu city to the foot of the emei mountain. Then you take a 1.5 hr bus further up to about 2,000m. After that a 45 min hike up to 2,500m. And lastly a short cable car ride to 3,000m where the temple and buddha statue are
And of course you can hike up all the way over 3 days
Today was non peak season and a work day and already fairly crowded. I suggest you avoid weekends and public holidays
Not that chilly even at the top. I was sweating wearing a light jumper
It was foggy so the views were not great as expected

We reached this place with difficulty as it was winter and it was freezing with snow on the ground and slippery stairs/steps. Please bring enough winter clothing, snow boots, scarf and gloves. The golden buddha was very impressive and we feel that this is a place that was worth to visit.

This peak is ideal for viewing sunset, sun rise and stars.
Breathtaking view of mountainous view from here.
But also take note of below-
Must prepare cold wear or good windbreaker.
No street lights here, do bring your own touchlight if you want night activity.
The foods here sucks and expensive.
No smoking in outdoor.
Hotels overpriced.

Giant golden Buddha on the top of Emei mountain. It shined brightly and left me a deep impression for sacred Buddha when sunshine reflected on it.

A TOP rated place to visit . Emeishan located at Sichuan China . A very scenic mountain , if you are lucky you will see the sea cloud and a beautiful sunset 🌅. Along the mountain way, you may stop by few spots for photo taking. On top of the mountain you will see a huge temple and a Buddha statue. A holy place for Buddhist to pray as well

It's a long way to the top, so take your time, get the cable c ar, then enjoy not just the scenery but the amazing temples. A wonderful place worth the time and effort. Good shoes, hat, sunscreen and water are essential

Much too over-rated for its supposedly breath taking view. For one, getting to mountain top is extremely laborious: bus ride, cable car, hiking. Local tourists have the odd habit of speaking at top of their lungs, and leaving behind rubbish along the trail.

Hi, can anyone tell me if it's hard to breathe at the top ? My lungs arn't very good. What is the altitude ? Thank you. I will be going in March 2018.

Altitude about 3000 over meter. Stop by when you tire then will be ok. I do not have any issue on it.
