This is an ancient temple complex. It houses multiple small and big temples. I felt the management needs improvement specially for ensuring Covid appropriate behaviour.

Shiva the Jageshwar.
Route is enchanting and filled with mysticism. Dark green tall Deodars with just shadows and a river stream flowing right through.
The temple complex of 125 temples makes one wonder what the Kakutiya dynasty had in mind and how on earth they could creat such temples right through 8th century AD to 13th Century. Wonder is under statement. Temple architecture at its best. The maha mrityunjay mandir adds so much of sacredness. And next to the river is the samshan ghat !
Just don’t miss the place. Most sacred for Hindus.

Located 36 km northeast of Almora, Jageshwar Dham is situated in an offbeat valley and along with a flowing river. If you believe in Heaven, this is the place.
There are around 500 temples spread across the hills surrounding the Jageshwar Dham. Jageshwar Dham is the 8th Jyotirlinga; known as Nagesh Jyotirlinga, out of the Twelve Jyotirlinga and has immense devotional significance.

Ancient Temples in Kumaon. Located 1 hour away from Almora this is divine.
No good restaurants so we took breakfast from our place of stay.
Also do carry a government approved I’d.

Lovely temples but the floor can get very cold to walk around barefoot during December. I wanted to enjoy more but the cold feet forced to me to keep on returning to spot where the stone floor was warm due to sunlight.
The place has a surreal feel to it. Very peaceful atmosphere. Definitely a must visit place, but on a warm sunny day.
