Kasar Devi Temple is world famous Maa Durga temple and is among the only 3 places where which is a part of the well-known Van Alan belt having huge electro-magnetic particles from the earth’s crust. This place is best suitable for meditation. I felt very calm and positive at this place. It is very near to NTD colony in Almora and there are many resorts and hotels here, the best one where I stayed was Kasar Serenity resort. Both Sunrise and Sunset can be seen from here. Himalayan mountain range peaks is clearly visible from this property making it very prime & extremely beautiful. The best thing it is on walking distance to Kesar Devi Temple.

    Holy Magical Place
A majestic place . Between the hills with a small refreshing climb or say a trek to the heaven. Founded or say basically enlightened by Swami Vivekanand ji . You can sit for hours and feel the inner peace and Aura of this holy place . #Finishyourplatefirst #musaafir_mehra

One of the Three Places on EARTH
The best place for Meditation. Kasar Devi is one of the only three places on Earth including Machu Picchu in Peru and Stone Henge in England to best the strongest geo-magnetic field which is believed to be the best for meditation. Swami Vivekanada Ji also visited the place and started his spiritual journey from here. If you visit Almora, visit Kasar Devi for sure, it's just 13 Km from Almora. The whole region is covered by Pine forests hence enhancing the beauty of this place.

Beautiful temple on top of a hill. Serene and peaceful but try to avoid the peak tourist season of May-June.

Kasaar Devi Temple is a famous Hindu shrine which sits on a hillock overlooking Almora town, the panoramic view of was beautiful. The temple is surrounded by lofty pine and deodar trees. Kasaar Devi is the reign deity. We stayed at Kasaar Jungle Resort and visited the temple though an uphill road from the hotel, the trek was reasonably easy The temple is not very big, when we visited in a June’22 morning, there was limited crowd. It was a divine visit to the temple.

The temple sounds like a local deity temple but is a 6th century temple! It has old idols, and there is a trust that is putting effort and money to restore it. Must visit.

If you plan to be in Kumaon, this is a MUST visit place. My suggestion is to stay for at least 1 day to watch the beauty of the nature in early mornings! This is a great place for experiencing inner peace and tranquility. Has very positive energy! Blessed are those who live nearby and can visit often. Will surely visit again and again!

If you're staying or passing from Kasar to another destination this is one of the main attractions and must visit temple in Kasar.

Once you reach to entry gate of the temple you'll come to know the long famous history of poets, writers and even Swami Vivekananda who meditated in this temple.

The feeling that one gets at this place can't be described in words. This is one of the three places in the world that provides a unique magnetic power which triggers such a mental peace and happiness which usually can be achieved by doing hours of meditation at some other place. In 1890, Swami Vivekanand visited this place and achieved great spiritual peace by meditation. Still lot of people go there for doing meditation and find solace. The view of Himalayan range from this place is spectacular.

Visited Kasar Devi temple alone to experience the positive vibes of the place…saw a Lady, daughter of the usual priest, performing Pujas, while his daughters sang beautiful bhajans to the Mother Goddess . The entire temple and surroundings with the breathtaking view of the Himalayas,Almora nestled in the next valley, was a balm to the soul
