    Tiger Gateway of Rajasthan- Alwar
The Bala fort is situated about 5km from the Alwar city on the top of Aravali at the 1960ft from the sea. The beautiful fort is spread to 8km gives a tremendous scenic beauty of the complete Alwar city. As the fort lies under the Sariska region that’s why it is controlled by the forest department. They will charge separately for vehicles but the entry in the fort is free. The forest department also offers the Tiger safari in open jeep at a minimal cost. So if you want to enjoy the safari then don’t miss the chance.

An eagles eye view of Alwar town
The fort has nothing much to offer except for a few cannons on sight. But the walk upto the view point offers a fascinating view of the town (almost of 180 degrees). You can see the city museum with its pond in grandeur. Another way to reach this fort is by hiking from the museum (5-6kms I heard) which would be adventurous and fun - for next time

    Very ill Maintained!!
Not a very big fort but offers good view of the city from the top. Fort is parched on a hill top so some nice windy place with good views. Fort is inside Sariska Reserve so if you are lucky you can spot an antelope, dear and Peacocks. We could spot and antelope and lots of peacock. But the fort is just pretty small and not maintained all. Seems to be favorite lovers paradise as all the walls are painted with love you messages :D

This is an amazing property with lots of historical features. Food excellent and very friendly staff.
Slight drawback, is that it was quite a way from the main road so look longer than expected to drive here.
Rooms spacious and comfortable.

Visited in Nov'21. The fort is situated in Sariska Reserve Buffer Zone and closed till 2023 for renovation. Personal vehicles are allowed inside subject to payment of a nominal fee. However food packets had to be deposited at entry gate due to park rules. The half n hour uphill forest drive upto Fort gate & nearby temple is beautiful but visitors can go only upto Fort's gate and 1st courtyard as the rest is closed.

There is a gypsy safari also but gypsies are limited and wait time is around 1 to 1.5 hours for the gypsies to return from their trip. So visitors planning gypsy ride should reach early. Parking space is sufficient at entry gate for those who want a gypsy ride.
Attached info in pics for reference. Rated 3 star (average) as it was compulsory to post a rating.

Visitors may visit for a fun gypsy ride through the buffer forests and upto the Fort.

Never knew of this fort, searched it through google maps and surprisingly a very good one. The drive itself to the fort is through the jungle and another gate of the tiger reserve.

The fort is quite big and through few points of the fort you can see the entire alwar city.

It is quite enjoyable, though some small climb and trek is required to reach to certain points.

Nothing much to do in the fort but the view is fantastic when you go to the edges and can spend 1-2 hours appreciating .

The view from the top is to die for especially on a clear day just before sunset. Good to trek to the top from the entrance gate.

If you are going to Bala quila better to by your own car. Because they don't allow you to enter by two wheeler.until there is a pooja in temple. Or you have take a safari ride which is 1400 for two people for 6 km only.

The fort is located on top of a hill and you can have a wonderful view of the city from the top. There is nothing much to see inside and it needs a lot of maintenance. You can skip this if you don't have much time.

The qila looks impressive from the road below but they were not allowing private vehicles inside. It was a big disappointment when we are ready to pay the entry fees for the vehicle as well as for us. Only way to go till the fort is to hire the forest safari gypsy and they were quoting Rs 1320/- for 2 people which in my opinion is quite high rate for a small 15-20 minutes ride. We went to siliserh lake instead.
