You might as well save your time. The surrounding area is disgusting and the moth eaten exhibits will make you sad.

This museum is on the top floor of Alwar Courts. The ticket to see the museum is Rs. 20/- per person. This museum has three sections. The main attraction is the huge collection of historical swords, pistols, guns and canons. The collection of historical paintings and sculptures is also worth seeing.

Located on the first floor of the City Palace, Alwar, the museum could have been a great attraction, had they kept up with the times in terms of maintenance and lighting improvement. The entrance ticket costs Rs 20 per head for Indians. Unfortunately, they do not have any leaflet or handout whatsoever which contains information on the museum or the... More

The museum has entrance charges and is good. Collections of swords and other equipments was the best one among all other things in museum.

We visited the museum on our way to our stay in a resort in Alwar. At first site, you donot find any compelling factor to go inside as the entry is not too welcoming. For parking facility as well, you have to ask locals. Once you step in, there is a ground which is not maintained and children were playing... More

The museum has a decent collection of antiques collected from royal family. The collection is from different time periods, and many of them are undated. Due to the lack of description, visitors may not be able to gauge the value of the objects. The miniature paintings and books were truly rare. The books are rare Persian manuscripts with illustrations. One... More

Not much of an attraction. Located in a busy court place which is called as the city palace, but actually is a place where law practitioners stay and file cases. A turn off and no goer. Better to visit the nearby Bala quila

This museum has a lot of antique things which can be enjoyed by adult as well as children. Just a 1/2 hr visit is enough.

The museum is worth the visit. Plan at least 2-3 hours there are a lot of awesomeness to cover. It's among the richest museums you can see artefacts and pieces from the 12th century onwards. Beautiful craftsmanship in ivory and precious metals are a highlight. The paintings from the 15 century will take your breath away.

I have been to various Museums before it and each one had clear instructions regarding the permissibility of Photography or its prohibition, also whether a separate ticket is to be purchased for Photography, but this Museum had no such writing anywhere. When I clicked few pics a lady seating there shouted like if I had committed any crime, I told... More
