- ManWithVanExeter, United Kingdom8 contributionsTiger sighting!!Lots of great wildlife, and most exciting of all, we saw a tiger! A beautiful tigress, from very close up. My frustration was that the jeep drivers and guides paid no consideration to the tigress; they were shouting, tried to get up too close, and didn’t give the tigress room to move. This detracted from the experience.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 13 February 2024
- Lokesh DongreNoida, India7 contributionsJungle Safari to rememberWoww! A wonderful jungle Safari to remember. What an encounter we saw in Sariska tiger reserve. Very thankful to sir Neeranjan our safari guide from sariska national park for taking all of us to an absolut sighting of 2 tigers name yuvraj (male) and Bina ( female) together and one leopard on same place. We were the 18 students and 2 professor from Indian institute of travel and tourism management noida. Leopard was on the top of the tree got scared by seeing yuvraj and Bina the tigers down the tree, when leopard comes down the 2 tigers tried to attack on leopard but unfortunately leopard saved his life by climbing another tree asap. This was a really thrill. I will recommend by friends and family to visit sariska.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 1 March 2024

Ajay has very good knowledge about the forest and knew all possible ways to track the Tiger 🐅 and Leopard 🐆. We had 3 sighting on the 1st trip all thanks to Ajay for his knowledge 😃. We saw ST9 , then we saw a leopard and tracked it for some time as well and best sighting was the biggest tiger ST 15. The safari was well spent with the company of Ajay. - Compass120081825672 contributionsSariska Tiger Reserve"Sariska Tiger Reserve" is one of the best Jungle in India. You can experiences ample amount of wild life activities inside the park. The place it self is a photographer's paradise. The jungle serenity, coolness is really worth of million. This is one of the best place to see the Nature at its best. Thanks to Ajay (9784173355 ) our guide who gave "all of his efforts" and finally we sighted a Tigress (in her natural habitat) along with its kill and chilling down in a pond afterwards... In the following safari we spotted a lot of wild life.. Ajay is gem to accompany.. We also visited "Pandupol" hanuman mandir located appx 30 km deep inside the jungle. Overall, it was really an amazing trip to sariska.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 May 2024
- Rites Raman2 contributionsMust visit for nature loversThe forest is very nice. Best time to visit would be monsoon though. We could not see tiger or leopard but few other guys managed to sight 2 tigers. If you reach Sariska on Tue or Sat then Pandupol Hanuman temple is must visit. It is 30 km inside the reserve. You can see all animals on this trip except tiger & leopard. Jeep safari cost us Rs 1500 per person on Sunday & it was booked through local agent.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 13 May 2024

Sariska National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the national parks closest to Delhi. Situated in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, the park stretches over approximately 1200 sq km, of which 20% is open to tourists, the rest being the ‘core wildlife zone’. The park has two gates: Tehla Gate and Sariska Booking Gate. The Sariska Booking Gate is the one most convenient for visitors coming from Delhi or Jaipur, since it’s the closest; Tehla is further away. Also, wildlife sightings are considered more reliable if you’re entering through the Sariska Booking Gate, which leads into Zones 1, 2 and 3 of the park—all spaces with substantial fauna.
We chose to go on two jeep safaris, one in the morning (report at the booking office at 7 am) and the other in the afternoon (2 pm). Safaris last 2.5 – 2.75 hours, and can be done either in a jeep (each jeep seats six, so if your group is less than that, the booking office will seat some strangers with you, or you can buy the empty seats) or a large Canter. The Canter is cheaper, but also more rugged: if it begins to rain (as it did on one of our safaris) there’s no shelter.
We didn’t see any tigers or leopards, but we saw plenty of other wildlife: spotted deer, sambhar deer, and nilgai; golden jackals, hyena, and a huge array of birds, including peafowl, tree pies, bulbuls, woodpeckers, mynahs, parakeets, and much more.
What marred it was the logistics. The jeeps were rickety, rusting in places and very run-down. When it began raining, the driver and naturalist took a long time to agree to putting up the tarpaulin for us. When they did, the tarpaulin was so dirty and poorly maintained that filthy rainwater began showering down on us soon after, and we were never really protected all through the ride. Also, the abilities of the naturalists were dodgy; one seemed fairly knowledgeable, but the other’s knowledge seemed to extend only to mammals—he totally disregarded any questions about trees or birds, for example.

We went to the Sariska tiger reserve on the 24 of December. No time for multiple safaris, so it was "now or never". We started early in the morning, immediately found some wildlife (dears, wild boars, peacocks etc.) but no sign of the queen herself. While everyone else was waiting near some bushes hoping for the tigers to show up (we did hear growling nearby), Ajay and his driver decided to take a different route. Watching him looking for footprints on a speeding jeep has been amazing, and in less than 30mn... Here she is St15, still yawning while relaxing in the grass. Had a really great view, and for quite a while too. After that, we also had a brief view of both St7 and St21 walking together in the forest. Thanks again Ajay (+91 9784173355) Recommend 10/10

I have been to numerous jungle safari's in different forest reserves mostly in northern part of India but never had sighted a tiger. Finally during my recent jungle safari in Sariska from Tehla Gate I got to witness the majestic tiger (ST-30) up close. The experience was surreal and I feel it was because of the constant efforts of 'Ajay Ji' who constantly tried to communicate with fellow safari drivers, forrest tracking officials and natural animal call sounds to get us a real up close sighting of the tiger. We saw a lot of other animals too during our safari like peacocks, deer(s), monitor lizard, bird(s), wild hogs etc. but surely the highlight was 'THE TIGER'. I recommend booking your safari with Ajay Ji (9784173355) the next time you visit Sariska for vacation.

Went as a group of four in one jeep. Arrived at the National Park for 7am. National Park is a beautiful forest but extremely dense. Guide came along and sat in the back and people in the front could not hear anything he was saying. He also did not actively try to look out for any wildlife. Travelled all the way round the National Park for just over two hours and saw absolutely nothing apart from some monkeys just as we were leaving the park. During the safari the guide happened to mention to me that the tigers are active in the evening and showed me a photo of them on his phone!
We are aware that you cannot expect wildlife to appear just because we wish to see them but we all felt as if we had been conned because if this was the case then why did our safari start at 7am ? This would probably explain why we saw absolutely nothing. Do not recommend this safari at all. Save your money as it is an expensive safari to see nothing !

We had an exceptional experience at Sariska Tiger Reserve, all thanks to our knowledgeable and proactive naturalist guide, Shyam Sunder. He not only suggested but also arranged an exclusive canter for our group of 13, effortlessly taking care of all the necessary arrangements. Shyam's profound knowledge of the forest's flora and fauna was truly remarkable, and he shared captivating insights throughout the safari. Despite some of us never having seen a tiger in the wild, Shyam made it happen, showcasing his dedication and passion for his work. His excellent coordination with forest officials ensured a seamless experience, and his perseverance led us to a memorable tiger sighting. Shyam's commitment to ensuring everyone in the group had an equally fulfilling experience was truly commendable. I highly recommend Shyam Sunder for anyone planning a safari in Sariska. You can reach him at +91 91660 01735.

If you are a wild life enthusiast then this is the perfect place for you. its almost the same distance away from Jaipur as Ranthambore but this is a much better tiger reserve. Its not commercial at all... you can easily get a safari at Rs 5000-6000. Only 15 jeeps go inside at one point of time and there are 2 slots in the day. The Forest rangers keep a very good track of the movement of the 25+ tigers that are present in the National Park. I went there in the first week of December and spotted 2 Tigers in 3 safaris. One T9 also called choti..A tigress and T21 also called Yuvraj...one of the biggest male tigers. Both the experiences where extremely thrilling as the tigers walked towards our jeep and moved forward. This was all possible because of the connections our guide had who has a very good experience in this national park- Ajay +91 97841 73355. If you plan to go there please get in touch with him for all bookings.

I did 2 private jeep safaris in the buffer zone and saw tigers (a tigeress and her 3 sub adults) in both of them.
We went with a guide and naturalist called Ajay kumar (9784173355) who was very knowledgeable about the area and tigers having worked there for many years.
He was able to arrange my bookings for exclusive jeeps on just a phone call. The private jeeps are more expensive but worth it if you can afford as they are quicker and you can go where you want and Ajay will come with you and help you find the tigers so your chance of seeing them up close and getting better pictures is much much higher whereas the canters although they go the same place are slower and stop sometimes too much but not a bad choice if you’re on a budget.
It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend Ajay for your safari bookings and also as your guide.

Driver turned up late so we didn’t arrive at the gate till 635. A guide eventually / reluctantly? appeared and proceeded to take us on a circuitous route of the park via a toilet block. The guide seemed to rely entirely on other guides spotting wildlife. As the safari went on the driving got faster. Saw very little , (there was wildlife there but just drove past it as it wasn’t a tiger)and there was not much interest in anything else apart from attempting to follow the other guides who had found tigers. Jeep then broke down on way back- poorly maintained starter motor, hitting it with rocks etc. Eventually got a bump start from a passing Jeep. Then the “rally drive” started as they were late getting back to the gate. Net result. My back is very sore, my temper is very frayed. Poor quality experience which could have all been avoided with more attentive people, a clearer understanding of clients wishes and a better quality jeep. Been on plenty of safaris before in other countries but this is by far the worst experience ever. I saw so much more from around the lodge in the buffer zone. You have to plan carefully and get better guides as all the other jeeps we met had seen more wildlife/ tigers than we had so the park has potential.

Visited Sariska tiger reserve in the end of December 2024. Everything booked with the help of Ajay, +91 97841 73355. He booked three private safaris and two nights on Sariska safari lodge. And the transport from Agra and on to Jaipur. Everything very well organised.
We spotted two tigers on the first safari. But none on the other two. But we saw a lot of other animals such as deers, monkeys, hyena, schakal and birds.
Can recommend Ajay very much!!!

I had planned to visit Alwar with my other family friend(total 7 members). We visited SARISKA NATIONAL PARK. We were very excited and were in hope to see tigers for the first time. We hired a Safari for the ride, and it cost around INR10000. As soon as the exciting trip started we also started seeing a lot of wildlife including 'sambar', wild pig, deers, 'langoors', . We also saw a big Tiger four times because our driver knew the Tiger way. We were very happy after seeing Tiger.
Safari Driver and Guide were awesome. We would recommend visiting Sariska National Park at least one time and you may book this safari guide(Raju- 9680525872).

Is morning time better or afternoon time better for safari in Sariska tiger reserve in May to spot the animals ?
Written 29 April 2022
My experience is that afternoon is always a bit better in terms of probability of sighting big cats, but the quality of sighting and photographs tend to be better in the morning. Afternoon light is usually too harsh and then too dim towards the evening

Yes , but you need to make sure the baby do not make noise else Leopard / tigers get alerted and you might not spot them.

Can pet dog be brought along on the safari as well as other sightseeing locations in sariska tiger reserve?
Written 14 September 2021
I am not sure you need to check with the reserve authorities only.
I feel it’s not allowed because they ask you to keep the silence when tiger or leopard is near by but you can’t control the pet from sudden barking.

I am planning to visit Sariska in monsoon season in August end or september 1st week. Main sariska park will be closed but my hotel person says they can arrange safari in sariska. I think there is a buffer zone in sariska. Any idea about it ? Has anyone visited Sariska during monsoons?

Yes you can book online at exoticsariska
We tried to book online but couldn’t get a slot. We went there anyway and were lucky enough to get a booking onsite. The safari is at 11am and 2 pm. You need to reach at least half an hour before these times to fill in the paperwork. Make sure all members carry an ID.
Finally, the evening safari in December and January can get really cold as the vehicles are open so carry thick warm jackets!
