Mount Abu a beautiful hill station is best to visit during rainy season. From Mar onwards it gets pretty hot and makes sight seeing difficult during day times. Its not like typical hill stations like Mussorie/Nainital but has its own charm and beauty. Mostly visited by people from Gujarat and Rajasthan hence weekends are crowded.
What I didnt like was absence of public transport here for short within city travel. There are no Autos, hand rikshaws or Ola/ Uber. Even to goto 3 km apart one needs to pay min Rs 200 and hire taxi or take scooty on rent. Weekend travellers from near by cities dont face this but for those coming by train this is a concern.
Best train from Delhi NCR is Aug Kranti Rajdhani which reaches Abu Road Stn at 6:15 AM. From Abu road Station parking one can hire Cab to Mt Abu for around Rs 600. No Ola/Uber options are there. Aby Stn is pretty neat and clean.
2-3 days are more than suffice to cover all of Mount Abu.

We visited the place after around five years and there is a transformation in the overall cleanliness of the place. There are dustbins provided at many locations and all of them are regularly cleaned. Ofcourse there is a lot of visitors coming in everyday but overall it is a refreshing experience

Very beautiful place and my personal favourite but it seems the administration is hell bent to destroy tourism here. The boat ride (self operated pedal boats) costs Rs. 200 per person or Rs.800 per boat for half an hour which is highly overpriced. The counter which sells boat tickets does not display prices which should be mandatory. Are these approved rates ??
Tempo travellers are not allowed to go beyond Dilwara temple but equally sized local taxis are allowed to.

The local administration is trying its best to destroy tourism here. Hope someone takes cognisance and does something to make things better or else it will be a sad day for tourists and me personally.

we visited mount abu from ahmedabad at night aroud 10 PM via train to abu road first which was a mistake. After 8 PM at most , rides to mount abu via rickshaw or Bus are stopped. Since its dangerous to travel up hilltop at night hence no traveling at night to mount abu. Best to spend the night at some hotel at abu road then travel in the morning via sharing jeeps or frequent buses from Central bus stand. Since we had someone known from Abu , we were able to climb uptop to mount abu at night via car where we reached our hotel Anand Darshan homestay at around 11 PM.
Next morning we started our trip via the same car to Guru Shikhar . View from guru shikhar is quite exquisite and beautiful. Then off to Peace Park which is nothing a beautiful plantation garden and quite and peaceful hence the name. Though at the entrance only , there is a preach that goes on and they force people to listen to it first but we were able to skip that.
Then off to Wax Museum where there 4 things to do -
1. Wax museum - Wax statues of various freedom fighters, celebrities and politicians.
2.Mirror Maze - As the name goes , just a small dumb mirror maze. Not at all worth.
3. Action 9D movie - You're sitted on chair with 9D glasses and 2 action movies are played where you are in a simulation.Kind of fun. Will enjoy this.
4.Horror house - just another stupid thing.

Combo offer of all 4 activities is 400/- per person.

Then off to Achalgarh fort and temple and then to Dilwara Jain temple which is the attraction of Mount Abu.
Toad Rock is not worth climbing those steps up top. You can clearly get the view of Toad Rock from Nakki Lake boating which is very much worth it and quite enjoyment.Hence we skipped climbing to Toad Rock.
Finally to Nakki Late which is the most obvious attraction of Mount Abu.There is Park also developed at the lake and you can take a paddle boat for 400/- per couple i.e 2 people for 30 minutes and can paddle your way to the lake which is very entertaining and fun.

Apart from tourist spots , Muslims looking to offer namaz , there's only one masjid located close to Nakki lake (Madinah Jama Masjid) and just beside the masjid are Non-Veg restaurants for people craving for Non-veg food as there are hardly any Non veg restaurants at Mount Abu.

And obviously if shopping at Nakki market , since its a tourist attraction , they quote the price a lot which obviously you can bargain your way through.
Hope you enjoy your stay at Mount Abu !!!

I have traveled several times to Mt.Abu but During my 3 nights 4 days stay from 10th to the 13th of September 21 I had a great great time. The weather was simply magical with the rain water playing pitter patter n the clouds exerting your room n covering whole of Nakki Lake....Due to Covid n heavy showers I had to give many attractions a miss but I have visited them all during my previous visits.

Very few places to visit. Half day tour is enough to cover this place. If you are traveling to Ambaji or Kumbhalgarh then you can start in the second half.

Hill station in Rajasthan... With a proper lake filled to the brim... Beautiful trek routes... Rock climbing institutes... One of the best heritage palace hotels in the country... The best stone carvings in the world... Pleasant summers... Some winter days see subzero temperatures... Monsoons rival the sahyadaris... This place is way underrated...
