- Mansi GargAhmedabad, India7 contributionsA fulfilling weekend getawayMount Abu is a comforting getaway with family or Friends. Once you reach Abu Road, the hilly terrain commences. The roads are smooth and don't have many sharp turns. Once you reach the top, the weather drops significantly and a chilly breeze welcomes you. Top things to visit: 1. Nakki Lake 2. Guru Shikar 3. Dilwara temple 4. Peace Garden 5. Sunset point Best time to visit: Monsoon or post-monsoonVisited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 26 April 2024
- BharatDarjiBhuj, India21 contributionsFun-Filled Days in Mount AbuI had a fantastic time during my recent trip to Mount Abu. We stayed at Anand Darshan Homestay near Palanpur Palace. The facilities were excellent, with pure vegetarian food, hot and cold water, and a very helpful staff. The homestay is located a bit high up, so getting there required some physical effort, but it was worth it. The cook made delicious tea, poha, and aloo paratha, which were real highlights of our stay. Traveling in our car made it easy to visit almost all the main attractions of Mount Abu. We explored Guru Shikhar, Achalgarh, Dilwara Jain Temples, Adhar Devi, the Brahma Kumaris center, and Nakki Lake. We especially enjoyed a boat ride on Nakki Lake in the evening, which was a serene and beautiful experience. We also spent time walking in the local market, exploring and savoring local foods like jalebi rabri and pani puri. We bought some handcrafted items, adding to the memorable experiences of our trip. The roads in Mount Abu are very good, and the overall arrangements were excellent. The slight rain added a pleasant touch to the atmosphere, making it even more enjoyable, especially while sipping the local tea. Overall, the trip was a delightful and refreshing experience, combining natural beauty, excellent hospitality, and the joy of exploration.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 June 2024
- Sailendra S7 contributionsNakki lake : good hangout spot in the evening , Dilwara - Nice and quiet placeNice small town ( Resembling Hill Station) has all it takes to enthrall tourists. Beautiful lakes , hill tops & view points make it a must see place in the NW state. Even the Dilwara temple gave us a very calm and peaceful atmoshphere.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 16 July 2024

Hello,
I have travelled from Ahmedabad to mount abu. My train cost was 212 per person and i suggest you you choose night local train Ahmedabad to jaipur passengers.
From abu road you can take government transport bus near railway station and cost was 40 male and 30 rs female. Private taxi and other vehicles available but costly.
If you do site seen you can book bus from bus stop by government and cost of 100 rs male and 75 female.
Food: some foods are costly but you can it from small hotels.
I have bad experience in hotel narayan villa when i stay fist night therr and book from MakeMyTrip. There have no water or drink as well as toilet no towel, TV was not working and hot water not available and toilet and rooms was very very Smelly.
Do not stay in Narayan villa..
Next day i stayed in hotel mamta Palace and it was very nice experience.

Very beautiful place and my personal favourite but it seems the administration is hell bent to destroy tourism here. The boat ride (self operated pedal boats) costs Rs. 200 per person or Rs.800 per boat for half an hour which is highly overpriced. The counter which sells boat tickets does not display prices which should be mandatory. Are these approved rates ??
Tempo travellers are not allowed to go beyond Dilwara temple but equally sized local taxis are allowed to.
The local administration is trying its best to destroy tourism here. Hope someone takes cognisance and does something to make things better or else it will be a sad day for tourists and me personally.

We visited the place after around five years and there is a transformation in the overall cleanliness of the place. There are dustbins provided at many locations and all of them are regularly cleaned. Ofcourse there is a lot of visitors coming in everyday but overall it is a refreshing experience

You can spend max to max one or two days because there is no places to see there . Instead of hotel you can take rented villa which is best option.
And never take private car.
Take rented bikes that is great funn here......

Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan state, near the Gujarat border. It is situated on Aravalli Range and surrounded by forest. Mount Abu offers a relatively cool climate and beautiful panoramic views. In the center of the town, Nakki Lake is situated, which is a popular tourist spot for hangout and boating, Other than its scenic beauty, Mount Abu is also popular as a place of religious importance for Jains. The famous centuries-old Dilwara Jain Temples, which is elaborately carved with white marble and intricate carvings is also situated here. The place also has number of hotels and restaurants of different ranges for the tourists. Must be in the bucket list of places to visit.

I think this place would have been good I'd it was 90s but times have changed and seems like this place is still stuck in the 90s.. There is litter everywhere, people act weird, everything is so expensive for no reason, the view points and tasks have not seen any developments.. Just terrible. I would sat dont waste your time and money..

Is the approach road from Udaipur to Mount Abu safe/ easy for drivers who are not experienced on driving on mountains

Last 30 km is hilly stretch but don’t worry and drive slowly and follow the cars in front of you. It’s not difficult and the traffic is not u rule unlike many hill stations.

Can i vsit mount abu in one day trip from abu road and back abu road in evening
Written 8 September 2019
Hi, yes you can, there are 3-4 places as must see and you can visit it in a day tour. You can hire a scooty or bike at Mt Abu and do tour on your own or can get a cab for full day hire. Cabs can go down also to Abu Road but scooty/bikes are not allowed to go down.
It can be little hectic but can be managed, we also did so and were too tired at end of the day.
Some places involve climbing quite some stairs.
