We had an excellent experience on our Serengeti Day Tour. Driver picked us up early morning from our hotel in Mwanza to drive us a few hours into the western entrance of Serengeti. We seen wildlife soon after we entered. Driver was great and made sure we saw a little bit of everything (elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, leopard and more). They served us breakfast & lunch. Great tour operator. Competitive price. Highly recommended.

My wife Meghan and I chose Shrike Safaris for a 5 day/4 night Safari of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. We are so glad we did! From the start, Mark was extremely helpful in providing us with all details of the trip and tailoring a Safari to suit us, making life easy by arranging flights from Zanzibar to Kilimanjaro Airport, and organizing transfers to Arusha, where we met our brilliant guide Nimrod and started our adventure. Nimrod was an exceptional guide, providing many facts about the animals and also teaching us about Tanzanian culture. We enjoyed his company for the five days and felt lucky to have him as our guide. It was great to see him interact with all guides as we drove. There was a great camaraderie between the drivers and guides and we even helped another group try to get unstuck from the mud! Our accommodations were of a high standard, and we were always well fed throughout the trip. (The coffee at the Hhando Coffee Lodge was delicious) Due to Nimrod's knowledge, expertise and patience, we saw all the animals we wanted and the the spectacular scenery of the of the Plains and The Crater. I highly recommend choosing Shrike as your safari guides when in Tanzania.

Mark did a very good job arranging everything for our trip. He was able to accommodate everything we wanted to do on our trip within our budget. We were able to go to the Ndutu area, Ngorongoro crater and Manyara in approximately 4 days. Accommodations were all quite good. Our guides, Jephet and Abdullah were both very friendly, nice and knowledgeable and did their best to show us a good time. We saw lots of animals on our safari trip. Mark also helped arrange transportation and Safari blue tour in Zanzibar. Overall very good experience.

Shrike tailor made our three night/four day safari in the Serengeti and ngorongoro crater. Mark was very accommodating with our requests. We started our trip in arusha, made our way for two nights in a tented camp in the Serengeti. The camp, shuhudia camp, was lovely, very friendly staff, and very comfortable accommodation, with full private flushing toilets and shower. The food was delicious, cooked eggs in the morning, fruit, coffee, etc. Packed lunch provided for each day, lovely food. Dinner was three courses, and very nicely cooked. This is a non fenced camp, so no wandering around alone! Lots of wildlife comes in and around the camp. Our driver, Dixon, worked hard to locate all the animals we wanted to see, with the result that after one day, we had seen almost everything we wanted! Lions, cheetahs, elephants, leopards, buffalo, giraffe, antelope, wildebeest, hyena, zebra.... Dixon was very sensible about the distance he kept from the animals, which couldn't be said about some other drivers! We saw another jeep getting chased by a buffalo, not a good situation. Also, the jeep was in good condition, pop up roof, and very importantly with the four wheel drive working. Saw several jeeps which had broken 4x4, they all get stuck, it's very wet and muddy. Dixon was also well able to drive in the conditions. Radio also working, which is needed to find the animals. Dixon had binoculars, but worth bringing your own.Third day, went to ngorongoro, another day driving in the crater, flamingos, rhino, loads to see. Stayed in rhino lodge. Nice accommodation, good food. Then day four, drive back, dropped to airport. A few things we noted.....ngorongoro was great for spotting animals, it's a much smaller area, with a full spread of animals. However, we liked the Serengeti much more, the crater feels a bit like a wildlife park, where the Serengeti had a feeling like you are definitely in the wild. Recommend you buy a sim card when you land. 10 gig sim cost us 15 euro, very handy in the tent and in the jeep. Be aware, you are away from the camp all day, no toilets. Not a big problem for men, but maybe not as comfortable for women, so might be worth considering as you drink the provided water! If you can, bring lots of single dollar notes. It's a big tipping culture, so a dollar for porters etc. The local currency is a bit cumbersome for tipping. Be aware, the max you can withdraw from the atm is about 200 dollars, so factor this into your plans, if you plan on paying cash for safari. They brought us to the bank before we left, which sorted that problem for us. Credit card not too popular in Africa yet. No atm in the wildlife parks, so bring what you need with you to tip at the camps etc. Overall, no hesitation recommending shrike, they were very fair in their dealings with us. Trip of a lifetime.

Arranged a 3 day tour of Serengeti and Ngorongoro with shrike safaris. All messages were answered quickly and the booking process and online payment system were straightforward. They picked us up from hotel to start safari and dropped us at airport after safari without any issue. We had an overall great experience on the safari with Shrike. Emilee was a great guide and had a fantastic knowledge of the animals and the Serengeti. Lodges and food were nice. Saw the Big 5 and more. Ngorongoro crater was absolutely beautiful! Fantastic experience and memories that we'll always cherish.
