Lovely temple

Well worth visiting! Remember to wear long trousers and men have to remove their shirts. Locals tell you what to do once inside as you need to "go with the flow"

If you are around Kottayam and have interest in visiting lord Shiva you must visit this temple. Huge shivalinga with calm and serene. The campus is well maintained and you have some veg only restaurants around the temple. Gents have to remove their shirts while entering the temple however pants are allowed. Ladies can visit in salwar kameez as well.

Beautiful spiritual experience. There was no pushing or shoving involved during the darshan. We saw three majestic , elaborately decorated elephants in the courtyard .there was traditional drums and trumpets music with lighted trishuls. The walls of the temple were decorated by hundreds of oil lamps.Truly an unforgettable experience .

A Huge temple complex. Try to cover it on a Saturday with vaikom, kadachil and Ettamanur darshan on the same day in the same sequence from your arrival from Kochi on way to kumarakom.
