From the top, the view across Verucchio is beautiful! Widespread landscape with delightful colours and buildings from long ago. And the castle itself is worth the climb.

Verucchio is a beautiful, small, historic Italian city with ancient roots and fantastic food. The Fortress/Castle and the Archaeological Museum were highlights for my 10-year-old son and myself.

From the top of the castle you can see Rimini and the sea. The self guided tour hand out is only in Italian. But the nice gentleman at the ticket counter explained enough about the castle on the paper so we would known what we were looking at. During World War two it housed refugees from Rimini. Not bad for a structure started in the 13th century.

We enjoyed a beautiful walk up to Rocco Verucchio. It was a beautiful walk up the hill and the views are just incredible. It's a must do when you are in Verucchio.

I love Verucchio as a town and the Malatesta Castle never disappoints. Go for the terrific views back towards the sea and up the Valle Marecchia. Good value too.

We participated in the double guided tour Rocca - Archaeological Museum and it was a remarkable experience! Massimiliano, our Guide, projected us first into the history of the Malatestas and then into the life of the Villanovans involving us with many food for thought and interesting curiosities. The archaeological museum in particular is impressive for the amount of preserved artifacts, even textiles and organic elements that have come down to us thanks to the exceptional territorial conditions. All the staff were very kind from the first informative phone call. It is an experience I Recommendation to everyone.

Very nice standing and very decent dishes for a very affordable Award. The waitress tried to help us as much as possible to understand the map

Malatesta fortress or Rocca del Sasso, one of the largest and best preserved fortifications of this family.
Built by Sigismondo Malatesta in 1449, from the roof garden and the keep you can admire a panorama ranging from the Adriatic to San Marino and the Marecchia Valley.
It preserves the imposing Malatesta family tree, two courtyards, the halls of the Baronial Palace, the Keep, the prisons, the guardhouse with kitchen and clock, the Hall of the Dante "galeotto" book, the Hall of the pergola that recalls the Byzantine Hippolyta Komnenos.
