This place is breathtaking, I felt like we were on a private beach that never ended. The water was crystal clear and the locals were so kind.

We went there to buy food only, which was from the local market. Small and hot with expensive food on sale and some local curios. OK for 30 mins - but not every day!

Pretty beach and safe to swim but a constants treat of traders is irritating. We were also intimidated by children to pay them for parking while they were fighting with each other. Nice for restaurants but a more quite beach will be better.

Bilene is a lagoon very safe for children and with hot waters. We took a boat and went to other side of Bilene, whatched turtles and there's a different beach with waves. Bilene is very good and you have good lodges with self catering. Avoid Christmas and New Years holidays because it gets to crowded.

Love the pink cocktail, you buy one and get one free. Beautiful island. I advice people to go there.

Bilene has shallow waveless waters and is ideal for water sports holiday. The white beaches and warm waters make it ideal with families with small kids. When i was there though the place was overrun with quad bikes.

Depend where you stay. There are very good places too very bad and all in between. One of towns with the most horrible Portuguese colonialist lodges too. The town is worth a visit. It used to be called San Martino.

Went for a day trip to Bilene. Definitely worth the +-150km drive from Maputo. The calm clear waters are great for children to swim. Took a boat trip from the lagoon to the ocean and was overcome with excitement when we walked up over the beach dune to view the ocean. Kids went crazy looking for shells and had an... More
