We hiked up Mt Te Uru Fa’atu 372m, the highest point of the island with incredible views of the lagoon. The always-wrong Tripadvisor-community recommends to take the steps in concrete in Vaiea, near the Tarona snackbar, to start this walk … well, this is a well...More

My husband and I did this hike but I chickened out right at the very top where you have to use a rope to pull yourself up to final ledge! It was incredibly windy and I was too scared. Even from there though the view...More

The climb up requires physical endurance. Or else leave reasonably early morning like 8am because the climb up is steep, the path up is easy to follow all the way up take some water. You can take your time to go up its about 2-3hrs...More

To start with the conclusion: yes it is worth it! But in this case the catch is better than the chase. The hike is approx 1 to 1.5 hr of steep, muddy, slippery climbing. After an hour the "ropes" start. An almost vertical rocky climb,...More

Track bit overgrown and side branchs not marked so a little confusing but view well worth the climb. Track would be slippery in wet weather so best done on fine day.

We hiked this mountain in March, one of the hottest and most humid times of the year. It was a torturous, never-ending hike but my God was it worth it. Stunning post card views like I cannot even put into words. Advice: Sturdy shoes, more...More

You will have a fantastic view of Maupiti and the motus after a couple of hours hike. Well worth the time if you have a half day to spare. There's not really any need for a guide - except on the way down, where you...More

Beautiful! But careful climbing it if it's been raining! There is a point where the steep strain becomes a vertices climb where an existing rope is there to assist.
