Do you dream to visit Bora-Bora once in your lifetime? If you are looking for the REAL French Polynesia, away from luxury resorts, but in touch with untamed nature, if you often think how would Bora-Bora look like without all those hotels and bungalows, then you have to see Maupiti. The island itself, the lagoon, the motus and the people:... More

A wonderful beach positioned in a corner of paradise! It is easy to find, and most important is not full of people and you can relax there without any bother!

Nice beach to suntan or wade in the water, but far too shallow to swim. Good, cheap Snack (fast food) located right on the beach. Possible to walk all the way to the Motu on the other side of the lagoon - just watch where you step! Manta rays frequent these waters (and the sand beneath).

Tereia Beach has warm, clear water and dazzling white sand. You can walk from Tereia across the lagoon to a motu where you will probably be the only human on the beach (we met some very nice dogs along the way). Good snorkeling can be found on the motu or down on the point. During windy weather kite surfers keep... More

Crystal clear water, never gets more than three feet deep and you can frequently spot rays and black-tipped reef sharks.

Ideal for those who are not use to currents and just want to splash around. There is a small set of coral just off the point to the right as you are looking at the lagoon. We even saw an octopus!

A nice walk (in about knee- to waist-high water) over to the opposite Motu, nice snack bar with great options at the beach too.

What else to say - this place is amazing. Wade across to the motu for hallucinogenic views. Snorkel at Tereia Point where it's a little deeper. Dine and drink (or sleep) at the excellent Pension Espace Beach for lunch or dinner and enjoy the sunset. Just one note of caution - I did encounter some fragments of broken brown and... More
