Very pictural, photo perfect. Other than that nothing else. 2 over hours of muddy trek to get there. Sleep in a smoky hut with over 40 people, noise and smelly people. 3 Toilets were dirty and share with over 60 peoples. Cold water so not...More

It’s not worth 7h drives from Labuan Bajo and 2.5h trekking on slippery & muddy tracks ! It’s not convinced family with children place to be as there’s no comfort & facilities for welcoming small children. We (the visitors) all sleep in 1 big room...More

We did a day hike there in late July, arriving at the start of the trek mid morning. Took the ojek to the trailhead but walked down. Would recommend walking both ways as the ojek ride is quite dangerous and no helmets were provided. 40,000...More

Hike is nice and doable even for children. Village is very commercial and food is average amd stay is very expensive (350k pp) for a place on the floor in a shared sleeping tent with 40 more people which can be very annoying. No comfort...More

It's important to realise how difficult it is to even get to the start of the Wae Rebo hike. From Labuan Bajo it is about 150km taking 6-7 hours. The last 50km is on an atrocious road and took us over 4 hours. So be...More

A good 2.5 hrs trek through the rainforest, from the bottom to the Wae Rebo village. We were drenched because of the torrential downpour when we were there. A good pair of trainers or light trekking boots is needed as well as torches and raincoats....More

This isolated village is located on 1,200 m (4,000 ft) mountain. It has rich culture and tradition dating back to 19 generations. Waerebo people are all friendly ; visitors are welcome in person by their elders. Hike is strenuous along the first two posts (800...More

The hike to the village, which can be quite difficult at some places or the whole journey for those who are not for, takes approximately 3-4 hours. People normally start the trek in the early morning when it is still dark so that they can...More

There are several traditional villages throughout Flores and much easier to get to but part of the attraction of Wae Rebo is that you can only access it by hiking 9km to it. I won't say it was easy for 54 year old me, the...More
